NorStar M7310 Corded Phone Logo
Anonymous Posted on Oct 08, 2009

We relocated a M7310 phone and it kept the extension of where it used to be. I need to change it to the extension it's at now and I've tried finding the Set Relocation option but I think our phones are too old to have that. I think they are from 1999. Can anyone help me with this?

I am doing feature **266344 and password 23646. It doesn't do anything when I type in feature **26634 and password 266344.

  • Anonymous Oct 13, 2009

I figured it was a typo and I tried it that way but when I type in that password nothing happens, it's still on the screen telling me to type in the password.

  • Anonymous Oct 13, 2009

Which password is it that I want to change? When I go into the passwords I get the options of COS passwords, Call logs paswds, Programming pswds, and Reg. pswd.

  • Anonymous Oct 13, 2009

I'm about to give up haha! The only options I have under the programming passwords are: SysAdmin+, Sys admin and Basic.

  • Anonymous Oct 13, 2009

I found it! But it already has Set relocation: Y.

  • Anonymous Oct 14, 2009

Nevermind, I finally figured it out. Thank you SO much for your help!

Thats kinda bad news, if config doesn't work then that means that the installer password was changed. depending on the version of the system, you could try 727587 (scplus) for the password. you should also be able to reset the installer password with coordinator plus

Of course it's possible, however, you need to turn off Auto Set Relocation. I'm not sure if it's an Administrator or only an Installer function.

There is a trick....and I've never tried it because I HATE ASR, if you unplug the old phone, move it to the original location, and wait at least 5 minutes, then unplug it from the original location and plug in the NEW phone before you plug in the phone you just unplugged, the new phone will become the old extension and your original phone will be unprogrammed. It also says you have to wait at least one minute before you can change the DN of a new phone, but that requires INSTALLER access.

Like I said......

Dial "F * 0" (Feature, star, zero), which is Button Inquiry, and press an intercom button to see the extension number of the telephone. If Set Relocation is set to "Yes", then the extension number & mailbox will follow the phone when it is moved. Move only two phones at a time, and wait until they completely "boot-up" before moving additional phones.
Hope this helps.

How can i change my extension nuber (norstar M7310)

Sorry can you clairify this question...

-> You need a new extension number for your set?
-> You need a new extension on your set so you can see when they are on their phone?

If it is the first, there are many things that you need first, too much to explain at the moment. But you need to have the password and a template for your phone to make changes.

If it is the second, press:
- Feature * 0 and any button to find out what is on the button, look for an empty button or one that you want to overwrite,
- then RLS,
- press FEATURE * 2
- press the button where you want to add this new extension
- dial the extension of the new person

Voila you are done!

Good luck!

Switching extensions

What do you mean their phones do not work when transfering to them... their phones still are working, but they might be different extensions now.

If you goto a set, and do a FEATURE * 0, and then press their intercom button, and see what extension comes up.

Lets check the system programming for autoset relocate:
-> get into the system
-> find SYSTEM PROGRAMMING and enter
-> find FEATURE SETTINGS and enter
-> look for SET RELOCATION: this is probably set to NO...
(when autoset relocation is set to yes, the telephone sets become smart phones, meaning when you move the sets- the extension(s) and buttons follow the set; if it set to no, the programming remains in the room/jack/port.)

There are a couple of options; but the easiest is to get the people to put back their phones to where they were, go into system programming after everyone put their phones back, turn Set Relocation to YES... and then get them to move the sets to their new offices... the phones will take sometime to come up(flashing alot longer than usual), that is because the system is reprogramming the sets to their new port assignment.
