Do I need to connect my older Fisher Turntable to a pre-amp before connecting to my Yamaha RX-V850?

No, you don't need a preamp if your turntable has a moving-magnet (MM) cartridge, it should work as-is! Happy vinyling =]

I need a display bulb for a yahama rx- v850 av reciever

The display bulb is a 14 volt bead style lamp about 0.150 inches wide with wire leads. You'll need to cut the old bulb off the two -pin cable assby and wire the new lamp into the existing wires.

partsexpress.com
mcmelectronics.com
or
studiossoundelectronics.com should have lamps for that

I just purchased a yahama rx- v850 av reciever

if you dont mind a lettle customization, just go to radioshack and set your favorite color l.e.d. and wire it in, if you can find a specs diagram for your reciever, you might look up voltage and wattage of the bulb so you can get appropriate resistors for the led, and install that. itll last forever, cost virtually nothing, and its easy to do.

Display is permanently "off" on the Yamaha RX-V620

Sounds like the LED that lights up the display has burnt out. An easy fix, if you're not afraid to take the front panel apart and resolder a new one.

Blank display

I replaced it with a 6V lamp. Radio Shack part# 272-1140. It cost $1.49.
