Why doesn't my recorded dvd-r movies play on my magnavox dvd player

Does your DVD player support that version of DVD disk? Not all players will handle DVD-R. Check the manual for compatibility.
Try recording to DVD+R then see if your player will play it.
Also, in what format (.avi, .flv, .mov, etc.) was the item recorded and is your player able to handle that format? Again, check the manual for compatibility.

My dvd player keeps saying 'incorrect disk' why? and what can i do to stop it?

I don't understand your problem.
Is it the TV or is it the DVD? You say you tried other dvds and the problem is still there. Looks like the TV is the problem. Sometimes it's hard to help people when they only mention on screen issues. How can first DVD say 'incorrect disk' and then another dvd, and another still say 'incorrect disk'? It just doesn't seem to make sense. Is the contents on the disk a computer recorded movie, film or home movie? If so, you have to record the film on the disk with a format that accept the DVD. Could the DVD be a Blu-Ray, can it play a number of video formats, DVD, DivX, KviD DVD, etc.? Try first with a purchased movie DVD disc, if it doesn't work, then the DVD is faulty. DVD players these days are meant to play a wide range of video format, including CD discs. If you have an old DVD player, you may not play latest discs. But if the DVD is incorporated with the TV, then you have to insert a new movie and see if it plays. Go to an appliance or TV DVD store and talk to them. Or you can purchase a new movie and insert it in. If it doesn't work, you can always return it. As you said, you've tried different DVDs, sounds like it is a separate DVD player. If so, try other movie discs. I get the same warning only when I insert discs with movies I recorded on my computer, such as Pinnacle video editor.

My HDD/DVD recorder will not format discs.

You can format only RW disks. If you are using R (recordable only once) disks you don't need to format them, just burn directly the movies.

Hey,
Maybe the format of your recorded movie didnt support your player..check out your manual for the supported formats and check the format of your recorded movie. If any of the format in the manual matches your movie format then it will definitely play..

Finalize a Disc on Mangavox MWR10D6

No. Generally finalising just writes the unused spaces as unused so the player knows and adds a stop code. The shorter the DVD the longer the finalise. An hour and a half on two hours is plenty of space.

I recently got a Philips DVD Recorder/VCR: Model No. DVDR3510V/05; Serial No. 0751 010790. I have recorded a VCR tape and would like to transfer this to a DVD±R disc. Can you tell me how to delete...

After you transfer the data to the DVD, you can use a DVD editing program like the DVD remake found on this link

http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/dvdremake_tutorial.cfm

and you can edit out all of the commercials

let me know if you have further questions with this

Hello, please try to clean the laser unit (OPU). You can use special (wet) cleaning disc obtainable at the market or ask the pro to do it for you. If you need more info please advice.
