You need an Optical AudioHT-X50 - 1.gif Cable. Hook one end to the HD Cable Box and the other to your Surround Sound System. If you dont have an Optical Cable to your Cable Box, then try using the usual audio cables. But, I have HD and it worked with the Optical Audio Cable.

Samsung HT-X50. I just installed a new 50" plasma TV and cabled the digital out to the Samsung HT-X50 digital in via an optical cable. The TV audio is now heard through the HT-X50 speakers but only...

Look into the TV's audio controls. If it was my setup, I'd NOT send audio through the TV to the hifi, nor video through the hifi to the TV. Additional hops and interconnects cause problems even though they're theoretically transparent.

How do I hook up my new HT-X50 home theater system to my Verizon HD "Motorola" cable box that my sony wega hd tv is hooked up to, so I can get tv shows and dvds to work with my home theater...

Hi evilfan,

If I may add to the postings of Ekse and TampaNative......

Depending on what available cables and connectors that you may have the basic idea is from the cable company in to your Motorola receiver then to your Samsung HT-X50 then to the Sony Wega as below image shows. All other additional devices such as another DVD player or an iPod Nano with Video Dock or anything else would have to be connected to the Samsung.

All external devices would have to be plug in the the different INPUTs as you may decide which is to which. What is important to remember is that everything goes through the Samsung be it incoming or outputs.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Samsung HT-X50 DVD Audio Problem

I had this same problem and checked all of my cables and wires. Come to find out one of the wires that connected to the central audio speaker (the one that the audio track comes from) was unplugged. I plugged it in and that fixed it! My audio track is back! So make sure that all of the speaker cables are properly connected! That might be the source of your troubles!

Picture HT-X50

Hi,
This problem to the system e.g; ( PAL,SECAM,NTSC....etc)
First check that you tv should be multi-system (not too old model) if it has supported system then turn on the required system manually.
Secondly Check the settings of your Home theater system and change the system accordingly.

Thanks.

Connecting a Samsung HT-Z310 home cinema to a Series 5 Samsung TV and Games consoles, will only work with DVD currently. How do I get the cinema system to work for TV and consoles?

Do you have an Optical Audio cable going from the A/V receiver to the TV? If not, you need to get one. Since the HT-Z310 only has HDMI output and no input there is not audio bypass. Once you connect an Optical Audio cable from the receiver to the TV, anything that goes through the TV (cable audio, PS3 or Xbox 360, DVDs, Radio) will go through the receiver, too.

No color on tv when xbox on

Try hooking the xbox up to another tv to see if you get color. If you do it isn't your xbox. If you dont then it's your video cables going bad. Hook a dvd player into the same spot you had the 360 in on your LCD see if you get color. If you dont then its your TV, if you do then it's your xbox video cables going bad.
