Water leaks from the soap dispensing tray on Hotpoint WMA 56 model

I have had the Hotpoint WMA 56 model now for approx 4 years. It has recently started to leak alot of water from the soap dispensing tray when it empties from the spin cycle. I have checked the waste pipe and it appears to be fine. I have had a look inside and there is no obvious leakage or blockage. I have taken the dispensing tray out and the water back tracks into the compartment and then suddenly goes through the waste pipe.
Is it a blockage or more electrical if is not operating as it should.

Many thanks for your speedy response. I presume that the sump hose is the one that leads from the drum to the little black box where the waste pipe leaves the machine. Is the filter easy to remove, as the overall process to locate and clean the filter has been a nightmare.

Thanks alot. Dismantled the necessary and removed a whole load of debris that had collected in the filter. Now working fine without leaking all over the floor. Cheers!

In the sump hose there is a filter, remove the hose and clean out filter insert, water is being forced up dispenser hose because it cannot empty fast enough.

My Neptune MAH3 is leaking from the detergent dispenser.

The detergent dispenser is easily replaced, simply held in place by the four corner screws which fasten the door and door frame to the washing machine.

Unless the dispenser itself is cracked, your leak may actually be occurring from a loose clamp or hose attached to the dispenser. Or perhaps the leak is coming from the hoses, which are connected to the back of the machine in the same corner as the dispenser. The fill valve, to which the hoses are connected, could also be the problem. These valves are made of plastic, and can eventually crack and fail. This valve is also fairly easy to replace.

If it's been awhile since your washing machine hoses were installed, I would highly recommend changing them out if/when you repair other items. Stainless steel hoses are now available, preferable to plain rubber ones, better to handle constant water pressure. Be sure to note a date on the back of your machine with a Sharpie or paint pen the date the hoses, fill valve, or other items were changed. I do this as a reminder for the fill valve, which gets eaten up by our municipal water supply about every four years.

Water leaking out of soap dispenser?

Disconnect first the mains, power plug off the wall. You could have a clog in your soap drawer; pull the dispenser drawer completely out. There is a tab that needs to be depressed to release the drawer to remove. Clean the soap drawer with an old tooth brush. The usual block could be old soap, softener, etc. (you could also be using too much soap powder). I usually use just above 125ml (my measure cup says ml, I use front loader powder for the 5.5kg load) The wash is very gud. This is the normal issue that will cause water to leak out of the dispenser housing.
Wash the dispenser drawer thoroughly with warm water. Make sure that you pull off the siphon covers and wash all siphon holes. This process is described in your owner's manual. Next could be one of hoses has become loose, should be re-fixed. Examine by removing top of the front loader; this will give you a gud view of the pipes. If helped, click.

Water leaks from the door and from the soap dispenser

when you say leaks from the door i am not sure if this is the case or is water running from the soap tray onto the door making things look that way, Remove and clean your soap tray,it unclips in the centre to remove ,if this does not solve you could try reducing Water pressure to the machine only....Good luck

I have a Frigidaire Gallaxy Series top loading washing machine, 4 years old that seems to be leaking from the bottom. Is this something I can fix myself? THANK YOU.

Before you buy a new $100 door gasket, pull out the soap dispenser tray and look inside the washer where it normally sits. If there is significant soap accumulation (even 3/8 inch), the water can become backed up and trickle down the washer front to the door bottom, making it look like a door leak. Fixed mine this way.

Leaking machine

Could be caused by several reasons.
1- Overfilling, check water level .
2-Blockage in dispenser, or dispenser inlet hose to drum
3-Drawer not in properly.
4-M/c not draining properly, thus when it goes into spin, water could be thrown up by centrifugal force, and come out of the front of the drawer.Check filter.
5-Water pressure very high, forcing water out of drawer, adjust pressure.
Plz rate my soution.
Thanks.

Lg wm1812cw front load washer

We had the same problem- for us it was because we were mixing laundry booster (Oxyclean) with liquid soap in the dispenser. It seems the water running through the tray had insufficient pressure to properly flush the tray out, so residue accumulated on the back & underside of the tray. Our water pressure is good here, and we don't use a water softener or filters that can reduce the pressure. Unfortunately it seems to just be a bad design of the soap dispenser tray.

We also had a problem with water/bleach leaking from our soap dispenser- when we used the bleach compartment in the dispenser we got leaks dripping onto the floor from behind the front cover of the washing machine. It was running down the front of the washer behind the front cover & coming out onto the floor. The repair guy said this was because the dispenser tray was pulled out too far, but the reason we were pulling the soap tray out so far was because the bleach compartment was too far back in the tray to use if we didn't. Now we just leave the drawer partially closed & pour the bleach directly into the soap compartment along with the soap.

Intermitant water leak.

Put a newspaper under the machine, it will help you to find out from where does the water leaks. Good luck!
