Sometimes my HP Laser Jet 2600n printer takes 250gm paper and sometimes it says Paper Jam but no paper jammed? I have tried everything and there is no obvious reason of why it works sometimes and then suddenly stops working. Any ideas?
It was only ordered a few weeks ago but I didn't know this could happen.
Sometimes it says jam and then when you select the tick it then prints. I can hear the tray trying to pick up the paper and it just doesn't seem to be able to sometimes. It was only ordered a few weeks ago but I didn't know this could happen.

Yes, have tried this both with filling it up and also with having just a few sheets in. I think I have just come to the conclusion that the printer just can't take paper at 250gsm. Perhaps trying 200 may work better???Yes, have tried this both with filling it up and also with having just a few sheets in. Are you filling the tray up all the way with paper? I have found with some paper, it doesn't feed correctly if you don't have enough paper in the tray.

Clear the paper jam... Also make sure all the pick up rollers are not smooth, if they are replace them. Also make sure the tray is set to the right paper and not offset. A lot of times people slam the tray and it moves the setting bar.
The panel on the back of the printer should pop out and you can get to the paper jam throught there. Make sure you get all the peices out cuz sometimes all it takes it one very small piece of paper to make it not work.
Hi. I would suggest cleaning your printer on the inside and removing any blockage from rollers or look for any peace of paper that's clogging any device inside your printer. Also try pressing all the sensors inside to check if they are not stuck or something. Hope this helps
HI ayyasamyr:
This your problem.
13.10 PAPER JAM The event log message for a paper-delay jam in the duplexer is 13.10.
1. Check the duplexer and the rear area of the printer for obstructions or damage.
2. Check PS1701 and PS1703 in the duplexer for correct operation. Replace the
duplexer if a sensor is defective.
hi im josh in cebu phils.may i help you? Friend this possible solutions of mine:
Problem: Paper Jams in Your Printer
It's possible that your printer's internal paper feed mechanisms are getting dirty. You can try taking the printer apart yourself to clean out any pieces of scrap paper or other debris, or you might want to take it into the shop to let a pro deal with it.
You might also be getting some paper sticking to other sheets of paper in your paper tray. (This happens more often with cheaper paper—spend a little more and get the good stuff!) Try thumbing through the stack of paper before inserting it into the tray; this should loosen up the paper and make it feed easier into your printer.
Finally, you might need to change the grade of paper you use with your laser or inkjet printer. Lightweight papers tend to jam up the works, so switch to something heavier if you experience a lot of problems. thats all friend good luck

200gsm paper works fine so perhaps the printer isn't capable of printing on 250gsm.
Thanks for all your help though.
