I kept having the same problems with YM. Every time i tried to sign in, it won't let me sign in. it's about yahoo! messenger troubleshooter and It said " We can't let you sign in". I am sure it was not...

Click the "Messenger" menu in Yahoo! Messenger and select "Connection Preferences."
2. Enable the "Firewall with no proxies" option.
3. Select the correct Internet connection type and country from the pull-down menus.
4. Click the "OK" button at the bottom of the window.
5. Yahoo! Messenger will ask you if you want to sign in again with your new proxy settings. Click the "OK" button.
6. Enter your Yahoo! ID and password and click the "Sign In" button.

The above configuration works in most situations. (However, if you connect in this way, you won't be able to use the Voice feature.) If this configuration doesn't work, follow these steps:

1. Click the "Messenger" menu in Yahoo! Messenger and select "Connection Preferences."
2. Enable the "No network detection" option and then click the "OK" button at the bottom of the window.
3. Yahoo! Messenger will ask you if you want to sign in again with your new proxy settings. Click the "OK" button.
4. Enter your Yahoo! ID and password and click the "Sign In" button.

If neither of the above options work, you're probably behind a firewall or proxy server that requires you to enter its address. Follow these steps:

1. Click the "Messenger" menu in Yahoo! Messenger and select "Connection Preferences."
2. Enable the "Use proxies" option.
3. Enter your firewall or proxy server's address and port number. Contact your network administrator (if you're at work), or your Internet service provider (if you're at home) to determine the correct firewall and proxy settings.
4. Click the "OK" button at the bottom of the window.
5. Yahoo! Messenger will ask you if you want to sign in with your new proxy settings. Click the "OK" button.
6. Enter your Yahoo! ID and password and click the "Sign In" button. use registry cleaner reg in out to solve registry error for messenger

If you are sure you have the correct password, I would start with changing your user name that you are signing in with. Sometimes yahoo seems to want the "@yahoo.com" with the user name, and sometimes it does not.

If adding or removing the "@yahoo.com" part of the user name doesn't help, go through the "forgotten user name and password" steps.

Yahoo can be a pain. Do you have another browser you can use and see if you get a better result> Ive found that sometimes I get password problems with Firefox and OPera so I then use IE to rectify my problems. Are you sure that you are using capital letters/lowerccase where needed?

I can't signing into yahoo messenger

It may be the server is down, it's been happening a lot lately or your Yahoo! Messenger connection information may be incorrect. Yahoo! will fix it soon. To configure your connection, what you should do? Click the "Messenger" menu in Yahoo! Messenger and select "Connection Preferences." Enable the "Firewall with no proxies" option. Select the correct Internet connection type and country from the pull-down menus. Click the "OK" button at the bottom of the window. Yahoo! Messenger will ask you if you want to sign in again with your new proxy settings. Click the "OK" button. Enter your Yahoo! ID and password and click the "Sign In" button. The above configuration works in most situations. (However, if you connect in this way, you won't be able to use the Voice feature.) If this configuration doesn't work, follow these steps: Click the "Messenger" menu in Yahoo! Messenger and select "Connection Preferences." Enable the "No network detection" option and then click the "OK" button at the bottom of the window. Yahoo! Messenger will ask you if you want to sign in again with your new proxy settings. Click the "OK" button. Enter your Yahoo! ID and password and click the "Sign In" button.
