If it was the remote that changed the function then likely the mode has been changed. You probably need to have it changed back to the input you plugged your DirectTv into, such as video1 or component, or cable/sat. etc, etc...
If you are passing video thru the monitor out to the TV, this will go much easier. First Press the GUI Menu button on the remote. If connected to TV, on screen menu will appear. Go to Manual Setup then (right arrow on the 4 way with the ok in middle) Speaker Settings then Speaker Select then go to Center Channel arrow right again and make sure it's "On" If it is, then go back to the main speaker settings and toggle to Speaker Level. Then select center channel and arrow right turns volume up. If you still have no audio, post a comment and I can help you troubleshoot further. Hope this helps
First, hide the remotes so that the TV cannot "see" it. If the problem goes away, it's the remote. Other than that, it sounds as if the receiver is faulty...accordianman
Using the remote control, push the left arrow until display shows Coax1 (or 2, depending on your setup), then push the up arrow to set it to TV/SAT. Conversely, depending on your setup, you can push the left arrow to display Comp1 (or2) then push the up arrow to set the correct video setting-- DVD/LD I assume.
