Printer won't respond to scan command (pixma mp450) and keeps telling me the cover is open when it is clearly not!

1. Go to window "start" button.

2. At the star manu, select, "Program"

3. At the program manu, select "Accesorries"

4. At the accesorries manu, select "Clipboard"

5. Clipboard will be opened.

6. At the "File" manu, you can see "Scanning" option.

7. Select it, and you will see the scan process.

1. Turn off the printer ( "Power" button).
2. Open printer cover and hold the button "Resume" (red circle in the triangle) and push and hold Power button.
3. Release button "Resume" and then push button "Resume" 2 times and release both buttons.
4. When printer become ready on the display write "CANON Idle".
5. Now close printer cover and push button "Resume" 4 times.
6. Then push "Power" button 3 times to turn off printer.
All done. The printer is ready to print.

open upper cover ink assy must be in the window, hold firmly the ink and full, replace the same way.

this is printer logic motherboard problem

The 6500 error code is a logic board error code. The PCI Bus error is detected by the ASCI. Sounds like it needs new logic board. but i suggest you to first of all you can try to reset your printer -

1. Turn the printer off with the Power button (if available).
2. Disconnect the data cable from the printer.
3. Unplug the printer's power cord for approximately 10 minutes, and then plug it back in.
4. Turn the printer back on. If this works you're done, if not try the next step.

1. After confirming that the printer is powered on, open the paper output tray.
2. Open the top cover and wait until the print head moves to the center.
3. Open the inner cover and check that ink tanks are properly seated.
4. Properly seated
5. Press down on each ink tank until a click is heard.
6. Close the inner cover and top cover

if reset method not works for you then you go for the new logic board replacement .

Power off printer
Hold down STOP/RESET button then Press and Hold down Power button
Keep Power button down and Release STOP/RESET button
Release power button
Push STOP/RESET button twice
Wait 20-30 seconds - our LED showed Idle
Push STOP/RESET button four times
Push Power button twice
Power off
Next time the printer is started the waste count will have been reset.

make sure your MP450 is your default printer..go to start menu>control panel>printers...then at MP450 icon, do a right click and choose set printer as default...then try to open up your work again to make sure it is refresh and try to print....see the result...

canon pxima mp450 code errior 5100

Open the printer, locate the absorber, wash it, then centrifugate to get it dry, install it again and reset the printer.
The absorber is like a sponge filled with ink when it's used.

This is respond to edid96, I try to fix by reinstall my software which came with the printer's software just try this first and see if the problem is fixed.
