Have you changed programs that you use to burn VCDs?
(Perhaps the program was updated?)

Perhaps trying a different program to make the VCD will work for you.

Also; when is the last time you cleaned the DVD player lens?

What are the functions of my input jacks?

The Y, Cr, Cb are referred to as "Component Cables". These are for enhanced quality. These connections must be used, at the min, for HDTV. THe Coaxial orange cable is for digital audio (used with a home theater system.

Dear Gonedeep2,
Are you saying the DVD/VCR player does not have a coaxial socket?
Does your TV have RCA sockets to match the DVD/VCR player.
(ie. red and white for audio and yellow for video signals).

No RF signal output to the TV through the coaxial cableIs, is that normal?

Yes. This unit only relays the TV signal...the coaxial output can't be used to watch DVDs or play the DVR, all operations are done via the component, composite, or S-Vid outputs. The coaxial simply passes the TV signal out as in from cable TV to DVR and from DVR to TV. If you still do not get an RF signal to pass through th unit, check the cable to make sure the wire is not bent or brocken on either ends.

No cable picture or sound

only thing I can think of is for you to check your cables... assuming you are using a coaxial cable for the satelite and rca cables for games and dvds, I would recommend trying a different coaxial cable. There is also the chance that the coaxial connection on the tv itself is messed up. you may try buying an RF modulator that will convert coaxial to rca, most rf modulators convert rca to coax. so make sure it does what you need before you buy it. tech guys at store should be able to help if you can't figure it out.

Digital audio problems

Try using a different cable for starters, regular rca, another optical or coaxial. If the optical works, then its a cable problem. If the coaxial works(and another optical doesnt), then its a cable/jack problem. If the RCA works(and the rest don't), then its a problem with the digital output. Try blowing into the holes, and if nothing works and you can't find any other advice, contact Pioneer. Good luck
