hi look through the back of the tv see if the backlights are lit, if not in a dark room shine a torch on the screen to see if you can still see an image, if you can, you may have a inverter problem, if you can't could be a tcon or mainboard problem, thanks

You either have a loose connection, or a bad inverter board. The inverter board acts as a power supply for the lcd backlight, and is located behind the Acer logo at the bottom of the lcd. So.....when the screen flashes off, can you see if there is still an image on the unlit screen? If so, it's very likely the inverter board. Inverter boards are not expensive (in Canada, an Acer service centre pays less than $10 for the part). If you cannot see any image on the unlit screen, It's likely a loose connection, or the lcd is on its way out. Let me know if you can see image on the unlit screen........
It sounds like the LCD screen got bumped and is bad. You can replace it yourself, with a little patience if you want to order one on ebay. They're around $25. There are articles on the net about how to replace them, in case you try yourself. I wouldn't have a repair shop do it, since they charge around $125, and you can buy a new camera for that! Hi, Plug an external monitor to the laptop to see if the machine is booting or listen for the windows log on sound to rule out anything else. If the machine is working and its just the screen look very closely at the screen for a very faint image. If you can just see an image please post back and I'll tell you what to do.
Sounds like the back light on the screen isn't working properly which will need to be replaced if this is the case. Check for a very dark image on the screen when it is booting up in a well lit room, if you can see the computer start up then it is the back light.
