Epson CX6400 Wont Print after being left on for a week.

I have an epson cx6400 inkjet printer. I left it on for a week while i was out of town. Now it wont print anything. It works like it is printing, feeds the paper, but the page is blank. I called epson and they say something has ''dried'' up and i should just buy a new printer. All the cartridges are new and i just think there has to be a solution other than buying a new printer.

Don't replace anything...
In the Printer preferences, there is a [maintenance] tab. There are several routines there. You need to run the "clean print head" routine.

If it's really bad, then use eyeglasss cleaner (or 70% alcohol) on a Q-Tip and swab each ink cartridge cavity in the printer.

You can get there several ways:

When you are in a document, choose [File] [Print] [Preferences] [maintenance].

In the [Start] [Control Panel] [Printers][Epson CX][Properties][Preferences]

[Start] [Printers and Faxes] [Epson]... etc.

I agree with Epson. Epson printers are very very hard to unclog. You can spend around $25 for a cleaning kit and *maybe* get it to work, or get a whole new printer that is faster and better quality for less than $100.

Well there is a solution you can try. the epson machines have an option to clean the ink injectors. you will be able to clean the head injectors . it will drain your ink, but at least the machine will work.

this option is in the maintenace section .

or just make a page under paintbrush with different color bars like yellow, pink, blue balck and add more if you want . print several pages and sellect option fine o picture quality. it eventually will open the ink canals

Nothing prints out on paper.

Did you remove the little sticky tabs from each new cartridge? They allow air in, and ink out.

Forgot pin number for epson stylus cx6400

If you forget your PIN code, you can regain access to the CX6400 by running the security lock program from your computer:
1.
Insert your Stylus CX6400 software CD-ROM.
2. Windows: If you see the Software Installation screen, click Exit.
Open the
SecurityLock Tool folder on your CD-ROM, then double-click the program file located in that folder.

Macintosh: The EPSON folder automatically opens (if it doesn’t, double-
click the EPSON CD-ROM icon). Then double-click the Security Lock icon.

Epson Stylus CX6400 All-In-One InkJet

try doing 4 head cleans and then leave the printer powered up over night. Don't print or anything else after the head cleans until the morning then do one more head clean (this soaks the print head in ink overnight and then the final head clean should clear any obstruction. If the printer still refuses to print in colour, you could try replacing the cartridges anyway as they can be faulty. The only problem is thaty sometimes it's cheaper to buy a new priner. (how silly is that!) By the way, are you using compats or epson original ink carts?

How to Change the Inkhead on a Cannon CX6400

Hi 2 points,
As far as I am aware there is NO CANON CX6400? But there is an Epson CX6400. If it is an Epson? the print head cannot easily be exchanged on this model unless you are a tech.

The carriage can be moved where you wish... You just pull the power cable whilst it is in motion. It will then glide free.

If you have to replace print head because it is clogged... through NON USE? You can easily unclog it with a Magic Inkjet Flush print head cleaning kit... find it on Ebay or Click Here

Good Luck!

The ink nozzle may be clogged. You may be using refill ink not from the original epson ink. Try cleaning the nozzle assembly or the printer may not be usable.
