I have an epson cx6400 inkjet printer. I left it on for a week while i was out of town. Now it wont print anything. It works like it is printing, feeds the paper, but the page is blank. I called epson and they say something has ''dried'' up and i should just buy a new printer. All the cartridges are new and i just think there has to be a solution other than buying a new printer.
Don't replace anything...
In the Printer preferences, there is a [maintenance] tab. There are several routines there. You need to run the "clean print head" routine.
If it's really bad, then use eyeglasss cleaner (or 70% alcohol) on a Q-Tip and swab each ink cartridge cavity in the printer.
You can get there several ways:
When you are in a document, choose [File] [Print] [Preferences] [maintenance].
In the [Start] [Control Panel] [Printers][Epson CX][Properties][Preferences]
[Start] [Printers and Faxes] [Epson]... etc.
I agree with Epson. Epson printers are very very hard to unclog. You can spend around $25 for a cleaning kit and *maybe* get it to work, or get a whole new printer that is faster and better quality for less than $100.
You can http://www.inkjetrefill.com/epson_clean.htm
Well there is a solution you can try. the epson machines have an option to clean the ink injectors. you will be able to clean the head injectors . it will drain your ink, but at least the machine will work.
this option is in the maintenace section .
or just make a page under paintbrush with different color bars like yellow, pink, blue balck and add more if you want . print several pages and sellect option fine o picture quality. it eventually will open the ink canals
