The sat's work show up on the tv and are ok with video and sound. But I can't get into the setup menu to setup ths jvc DVD recorder. Do I need to be on a aux channel on the JVC box to see the menu ? and if so how do I get into it. I tried the TV aux but no good just snow, Any one know how I can get the JVC setup screen to show on my tv to be able toset it up with this configuration.

The RCA plugs go to the output on Sat. box and connect to input on the JVC recorder, I also have a optical line run between the sat. and JVC recorder.

Figured it out I used a RF Modulator and hooked it up to sat. boxes (using a coaxal 2 in - 1 out switch) connect to input (coaxal) at modulator and the out at the modulator coaxal to the in TV. Hooked the RCA plugs Red, White, Yellow up to DVD/VCR(out to tv) and at modulator connect RCA jacks to in put from DVD/VCR. worked like a charm.

I googled how to connect a new DVD/VCR with no coaxial connections by coaxial to a tv.......and found the answer: By using a RF Modulator box.

Put in in your onboard computer (brain) and save it.

Ok, so the Sat box outputs video to the JVC via RCA and audio via an optical cable. How is the JVC connected to the TV?

My JVC DR-MV150B plays prerecorded VHS tapes fine.

Try opening the front hatch of the tape by pressing the small, square button on the right or left (short) side of the tape. Check the black tape inside for any marks, dirt, scratches, tears, etc. If the tape is fine then your unit needs to be cleaned with a tape cleaner available at any electronics specialty or retail store. Good luck to you!

I have a JVC DR MV7SU DVD/Video recorder. How do

If your camcorder allows you to connect to a tv or vcr and allows you to record from it to the camcorder via the rca video input, then you should be able to record it that.  The camcorder must have the RCA audio/video inputs on it to be successful.

Hooking up surround sound

to get the digital you have to have the digital optical line or the coax rca jack digital audio connection from device to stereo reciever to get the dolby digital surround sound to work , otherwise you can only get a virtual surround sound from the reciever( no dolby digital )

Home theater

Just go into your sat box setup menu and under setup system option select audio and make sure to go to the dolby digital option and turn it on. This feature is turned off by default from the factory. You will always get 2 channel sound unless that is on. Also remember to go to a hd channel as they are broadcast in surround sound and non hd channels are broadcast in 2 channel.

RCA RT2280 surround sound mode button wont select 5.1 dolby digital mode.

I had the same problem and this is what I did to fix it. Assuming that all of your equipment is powered on, (tv, blu-ray/dvd, rca receiver) you'll need to go into your dvd players audio menu and select the dolby digital audio.
Once you do this, the digital signal is sent to your receiver from the dvd. The receiver should automatically set itself to the dolby digital preset. If it doesn't, press the surround button until you reach it. I found part of this information here. And the rest was personal experience.
Also, it depends on if the disc format is in dolby 5.1. I hope this helps you.

Hooking up video

I am assuming that you are using a surround sound system? If so on the back of the satellite receiver you will have RCA cables labled yellow ,red, white uuse an rca cable to run from the output on the back of the sat box to an rca input on the surround sound unit.the inputs should be labled on the back of the surround sound unit.once you have the sat box plugged in look for the output on the surround sound (rca cables) run one set of rca cables to the rca cable input of the Tv.on the original tv remote select the tv input that is the cable from the surround sound is plugged in to . make sure the surround sound unit input is selected to the input that the sat box is plugged into.this will give you surround sound from your satellite receiver, repeat with your DVD player plugging the DVD rca cable output to another empty input on the surround sound.to switch between the sat box (satellite TV) to DvD select another input on the surround sound unit.Try to correspond the units you are plugging into the surround sound to the correct name of the component on the back of the surround sound unit to avoid confussion.any questions,Im here to help.If this works rate me FIXYA! if it helps.GOOD LUCK!
