I have a Coleman Powermate 6250. It starts on the first pull and runs great, but there is no power coming from the outlets. Any suggestions? I have removed the wiring harness from the outlet panel and tested for current. No current comes through the wiring harness.
Excite the genset.
with the gen engine running,
1) plug a 3/8 drill into an outlet,
(make sure the drill is set to the forward rotation)
2) hold the trigger in the run position
3) by hand, rotate the drill chuck with a quick flip of your wrist.
*** NOTE: BE PREPARED !!! this will excite the gen-set and the drill will start to run as normal.

Coleman 5000 produces power, will run light or skil saw. A 1500 watt heater trips the circuit breaker so does a large fan. I checked voltage and found it varies by engine speed. If you speed the engine up the voltage goes up from 110-118 to 130-140. would this be two seperate problems?(voltage regulator) or what.
Thanks Bill
Your gen set should have a electronic capacitor panel be hind the plug inlet, blake cover check to see. that my be bad. also you may need to recite the gen set, look in your owners Manuel to see how they excite
It might be the AVR card..its sittuated under the brushes...with three wires coming out of it..
