Connecting PS2 to a Hitachi 51F500

Compare the plug on the TV. From left to right the picture has a DVI connector, a VGA connector and a HDMI connector.

Causes: 1. You've made the wrong connection to your TV
2. You didn't make a connection to your TV
3. At worst, your TV isn't compatible with your PS2 (PAL/NTSC issue)

Remedy: 1. Check your connection with your TV. If you have a S-Video cable
connection for your TV and your PS2, check it properly so that
video cable from your PS2 is at the Video-in port in your TV. If
this doesn't work. Go to #3.
2. You probably got excited. =) Connect your TV to your PS2 by
following the instructions in your manual.
3. This is an issue. First, before buying a PS2, you should know
what type of TV you are using. It's either PAL or NTSC. PAL TVs
are most likely to be found in the European countries. As for
NTSC, it's the most common between the 2 and can be found in the
US and the rest of the world. Now, make sure that your PS2 is
compatible with your TV. Or else, you might get weird pictures
in your TV. And at worst, your TV might be damaged.

possibly or somehow the connection was changed. (you may have sat on the remote or something of the sort) that changed the channel

This sounds like convergence output IC problem. convergence board would have to be removed - remove and replace 2 STK IC's and check the surrounding resistors. Shops usually $200-$400 Be sure to vote/rate me if this helped Thanks!

You might of had one of the wires connected from the TV to the PS2 damaged and may need new ones or just make sure that the wires connecting each other from the TV to the PS2 are well connected. My little brother use to drop my PS2 a lot too and that happened to me once, but it turned out to only be that the wire got pulled too much when it fell and it disconnected from the TV to the PS2 and I had to only put it in well.

your wired connection cable which sends the signals to the tv is faulty. I recommend buying ps2 or ps3 (either will work) value component cable for the best graphic quality. check it out in stores like game or gamestation or even cex for price ranges of £2 to £10 very cheap for amazing high definition quality (only if you have component support for your tv)!!! it is very true , but if your just using the yellow video and the audio connections you should be alright , its the s-video or hdmi you have to worry about
