Network Interface Hi, I have a problem with my 7210 all-in-one where suddenly it is not recognized by the ActionTec wireless router. I was working fine until one day when I went to print and it failed. I tried a power reset of the printer and the wireless router. I set the printer back to factory defaults but when I try to reinstall the printer it can't be found on the network. What else can I try. It seems like the network interface has failed for some reason. Does that sound like a feasible diagnosis? Thanks, Richard Abt
Test the printer network cable for connectivity, but if the network interface fails u can use other ports like the usb port with the usb network interface adaptor to connect to the network once uve confirmed that the RJ45 network interface is bad

unfortunately, no. You would be better off Ebaying the actiontec and getting a dedicated router- the reason is that the only uplink on the actiontec is the dsl port- not ethernet. Theoretically you could mod the firmware to make the wireless an access point only- but it would still have the achilles heel of needing an uplink.
When you configure the "wireless" interface inside the router, you define:
* SSID -- the "name" for your wireless network
* encryption-level -- use 'WPA' or 'WPA2', not 'WEP' (too easily "hacked")
* the password for your wireless network.
Then, on your wireless device, select the SSID, and enter the password, to connect.
you can login to the Actiontec modem by typing the ip address of actiontec modem in the address bar of Internet explorer...
It will open the interface of actiontec modem...
In the Interface of actiontec modem you will have option for wireless...
If you look under wireless setting you will be having the wireless mode as 802.11b/g/n or just B/G/N....
Change this wireless mode to OFF...
Thats it you are done...
By default the ip address of action tec is 192.168.0.1
Turn off all PC's that are attached to the router. Try unplugging the router for at least two minutes and plugging it back in, then try to turn the wireless back on.
The laptop/computer's wireless card may not have the latest wireless card driver installed or it is not enabled and working. Check Device Manager to see if is is working and enabled. I suggest you install the latest wireless card driver. Next check the wireless card configuration, it needs to have the wireless router's settings, ie SSID and encryption etc. For instructions on securing and configuring the wireless router and wireless card please click in this link :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r3559128-wireless_router_security
You will need to check the wireless settings of the router. For that, you will need to access the set up interface of the router. Here you can change the wireless network name and secure the wireless network. Click Here to know more about route set up
Sounds to me as if the Actiontec GT704WG has died. If it is still under warranty, get it serviced. If it is not under warranty, You can try to find en electronic friend to take a look at it. If you do not have such a friend, Maybe someone else here can help you. But you might want to consider a new unit.
