Hotpoint WMA58 Washer won't do proper final spin

Hi, when the washer reaches the final spin, it only goes round at a slow pace. The drum does turn, and there are no additional noises, but still it doesn't spin at the quick speed. Any ideas, as it's a bad time to break down.

Thanks

I ve come across this problem many a time... my job is recondtioning these models of machines for the last 3 years..
This problem has three solutions..
the first one is the control board,, very unlikey but has been known,
secondly the wiring loom unlikey but has happend.
Thridly the motor itself ....This is the most common remedy to this problem.

When on spin, the drum is rattling and making a lot of noise

More than likely the main drum bearings have failed.
From the front of the washer, spin the drum by hand, and if it feels rough, or is rumbling or grating, then the bearings have failed.

When on final spin, water leaks from detergent draw

You probably need to clean the filter.
Remove lower rear cover of washer.
Remove large black hose fastened to bottom of drum.
Remove and clean filter inside hose.
Remove hose onto pump, and check for blockage or obstruction here as well.
Please rate my solution.
Thankyou.

It seems that the drum is spinning off its axis

When a front load washer does not spin properly, the problem can be caused by failed axle that connects the pulley to the wash drum, or failed shock or (possibly) broken suspension springs.
Remove washer top, inspect the two or four springs holding the washer drum up. The whole drum should be able to "bounce" a little, when you press down on it.
Remove the lower front panel and with a flashlight, inspect the two shock absorbers. Both should attach up to the wash drum, but it is common for them to break, especially if the front load washer has been moved from one house to another without re-installing the lower brackets and the long bolts that secure the drum during the move.
If the springs and shocks are not damaged, with the top removed look down into the rear area. You will see a large pulley with a belt on it. If you see brown/black grease marks all over or obvious problem when you try to turn the pulley, you have found the major problem.
Please get back to me with what you find. OK?

My 13 year old wma58 makes a lot of noise on spin rinse

To be certain if it is the main bearings, remove the lower rear panel of washer, remove belt, and spin drum from the front.
If it feels rough or is rumbling, then the bearings have failed..
If no noise from drum then it could be noisy motor bearings.
At that age, it certainly would not be cost effective either way.
Hope this helps.

Hi i am having trouble with our wma58, the last 2 washes it has sounded noisy on start up but then washed fine yesterday i put the machine on it seemed to get half way through a cycle then stop all the...

Try the following.
Remove lower rear panel of washer.
Locate and remove the large black hose fastened to the bottom of the drum.
Remove and clean the filter inside the hose.
Remove the black hose onto the pump, and check for blockage or obstruction here and in the pump.
Hopefully, this will solve your problem.
Good luck.

Check to see if you can turn drum by hand, if you can, then prob could be belt, or motor not turning under load, check brushes in motor.
