Get yourself a card reader and use it to download the pics from the card. Then, format the card in the camera. This reader is $13 at Walmart.

If you see the System Intitialization screen then getting this error... is is most likely a corrupted Hard Drive. Hard Drive needs to be maintenaced and it may take a Tech to do it or someone real savy. Basicly you need to Boot the System from a CD, floppy or thumb drive and run ChkDsk,.. and see if that removes the error. Drive most likely read able on another system...

When tv and ps3 backswitch turned on hold down the front power button when off until the ps3 has done a double beep after the intitial beep and wait for a max of 1 min and initial set up screen should appear

this only problem with windows or virus....
you can use recovery to solve this problem..nothing else...check and it will work fine

My 182C developed the same problem. It appears to be a problem with reading data from the card. When I power up the unit, sometimes it will display "Reading Card" for a long time and no data will be read. I've found that if I open the latch and push in on the card as I press the power button, it will only then display the number of maps loaded. Sometimes less than other times. Most times a lot of data is not loaded from the card causing the problem frankcps describes and other problems, such as no data for tide stations, anchorage, etc. I tried cleaning the contacts on the data card & where it plugs in, but still continue to have the problem.

OK, your not going to believe this but I had the same problem and read on another board to remove your SM Card, blow into the slot, and replace the card. I did this as a last resort and it worked. I can only get my camera to read the card if I do this before I insert it. Un-believable!
