SOURCE: Panasonic PT-56LCX66 buzzing noise when i push power

I'm going to take a guess and say that the buzzing noise and burning smell was either a transformer or a blown capacitor (more likely). It's likely that your old lamp was still good and there is a problem at the circuit level.

If you or someone you know is comfortable with electronics, you may want to open it up and take a look. If there is a blown capacitor it will be obvious. Take a look at badcaps.net or Youtube for help on identifying them.

If you don't feel comfortable working on the inside of a TV it's probably time to get a new one. Repairs will not be cheap and they won't be worth it.

Loud noise burning smell

please describe the noise? Burning smell like plastic?
It's a laser printer, so it's possible that the fuser is an issue. Is there a paper jam in the printer under the fuser?

Electrical burnt smell

If you had a short in the starter motor windings and held the key, you'd get a click and a burning smell. That would be the insulation burning off the electrical windings. There's a 40-amp max fuse in this circuit.

Low humming noise and burnt plastic smell coming from 1990 acura integra

Jennifer what type of timing belt does your engine use ?
Is it Nylon ? When was the last time you had it changed ?
Burning plastic smell may be being caused by the timing belt bearing runners seizing and the belt is getting hot .
If the belt is due to snap you could cause a lot of damage to the engine if it breaks.
Might be worth getting a mechanics advice on this as a possible cause

My maytag dryer is making a very loud noise near the area where the belts are, the belts seem to be working and the drum is turing, however after a while there is a burning smell.

Is the burning smell like plastic? If so read on. The belt runs on a spring steel plat tensioner with platic wheels of course. Plastic is on everything these days, huh? Well anyways the wheels the belt rides against has bushings inside them to make them last a long time which they do. It seems the plastic wheel will melt down in some spots and when rotating it makes the drum of the clothes dryer make a rumbling sound. I know you did not mention that problem although if the wheels keep on melting down the smell will subside but the noise will get loader as time goes on.
