Your first going to need to go to http://www.servicemanuals.net and download a service manual. Look at the schematic diagram, locate the convergence IC's an then order them from http://www.partstore.com Then hopfully you know how to unsolder solid state electronics. If theres a step in here you dont understand, like reading a schemastic, then a TV set is NOT the place to be experimenting around inside of. please seek out a pro to assist you in this repair.

Guys I did this myself real easy. Just don't turn the corresponding screw too far. Only need to adjust it until the lines go away. Do it on a darker screen so the lines are more visible. I did the red 2 years ago and the green 6months before that. The blue lines are coming on my screen now and I've fixed it in 10 minutes. The TV is amazing.

To access the focus block with the screen controls, remove the 2 plugs under the speaker grille. There is a philips head screw under each plug. Remove both screws. the speaker grill is now free. Pull the bottom forward and the grille will come off. The top is just held by tabs behind the screen bezel. Be careful as there is wiring to the grille for video input 2 and the front panel controls. There is a piece of fiberboard held on by 4 screws in the center which was formerly covered by the grille. Remove the screws and the panel and the focus block is right there. Each color is labeled for both screen level and focus. Adjust the screen control of the color producing the lines until the lines just disappear.

Is there a cheaper solution? $600 sounds like you just throw it away to me...
