The door chime on our 2005 Saturn Relay Van continuously goes off when you put it in gear. There are no obstructions but the automatic door switch fails to open the door sometimes and other times the chime will continue even after the key is removed

I have a 2006 SV6 with the power sliding doors. The problem that I found was with the contacts on the door ( They are called plungers) the movable pins were losing connection with the fixed part The plunger is very easy to replace if you can find one. The plungers are covered with a rubber cover and is held in place with 2 plastic pins. My Pontiac dealer could not even find one in his books or even a picture of one, and claimed that he had never had anyone come with a door problem. My Chevy dealer said that it came with a wiring harness that is not needed for $154. The cure that I came up with was to take the plunger block apart (it snaps together)and replace the rusted out springs then solder 3" wires to the end of the plunger pins (they solder easy) to the tabs that go to the plug(pop out the tabs or you will melt the plastic. It took about 45 min. now the doors work like new and will never loose contact again

The saturn relay had many issues with the doors and door chimes, the sliding door module is not seeing that the door is fully closed and it activates the chime sometimes just when driving the chime can just start comming on,,,what usually happens is the cables stretch that control the sliding doors and they dont keep it tight enuff for the sliding door module to relize they are closed, i would take it to the saturn dealer and have them do a door adjustment and relearn the sliding door module,, this procedure does wonders, but sometimes the only fix is a new power sliding doo module,,,once in a while there is a obstruction in the lower sliding door track like a piece of foam,if thats there remove it and lube the track with lithium grease, maybe that wikll help, but this is common with all saturn relays, pontiac montanas, olds and chevy uplander,,,

Location of Thermostat on 2005 Saturn Relay Van 2 WD

I looked relay 2, the upper radiator hose should go to thermostat housing. The picture is thermostat housing, as you can see radiator hose goes to one end.

Door chime

Could be a bad sensor in one of the doors.
Most models have a sensor in the door latch instead of a switch.

How do I go about disabeling the alarm/chime in my 2005 Saturn relay. This chime goes off constantly even while I am driving. It originally started with a chime telling me that the rear door was open when...

The problem is likely a bad switch in said door. If you can't fix it now, crawl under the dash, find the chime (should be easy..ding..ding), and unplug it. Please rate me. Thanks

Disconnect sliding door chime 2005 Saturne Relay

On my 05 Relay I scratched the oxidation off of the switch heads and the contact plates on the door pillar. Worked for me.
Another fix I've read about is to take out and put back the PSD fuse. Then open and close the doors twice (with power button) for the computer to relearn the positions.

01 dodge grand caravan driver side door wont unlock, something to do with gas cas door. checked gasdoor still wont un lock....HELP!!!!!!!!!!! think it may be a relay or some type of elec problem...

Ok get in car. close all doors. Put key in ignition cycle key four times on & off. DO NOT START. Within 10 seconds of the final cycle, press the drivers door lock switch to the lock position. If you here a single chime you have reprogrammed the power door locks. This can be done of throught the EVIC system if the van has the system. If problem does not go away lock motor is bad

Power locks don't engage when driving

this is form the owners manual, page 19:

The Automatic Door Locks can be enabled or disabled by
performing the following procedure:

1. Close all doors and place the key in the ignition
switch.

2. Cycle the ignition switch ON/OFF four times ending
in the OFF position. (do not start the engine)

3. Within 10 seconds of the final cycle, press the interior
driver’s door lock switch to the LOCK position.

4. A single chime will sound to signify that you have
successfully completed the programming.

You can turn the feature back on by repeating the above
mentioned procedure or by performing the procedure in
the Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC), Customer
Programmable Features section on vehicles so
equipped.
