Tray's sticking on vocopro 8000 pro

Both trays have power. When I turn on the player, both cdg come up to No disk. But when I try to open either side the think kind of makes the sound of getting ready to open then a little "plunk" kinda noise and in a few seconds the err comes on the display. Any ideas?

I have take this unit apart. It appears to me that the magnets that slide to the center oof the disk when you insert a disk, are clamping down on the underside where the magnet is and not letting go. If I take the crossbar off either side od 1 or two, the doors opens and closes effortlessly, when I put the crossbar back into place it does not. If I put a little upward pressure on the bar as I hit the open button it will open as well. What do I need to do to stop that?

Ok, I still have the cover off and can watch it as it works. I don't believe that the belts are slipping. Are you talking about removing the entire cd unit or just taking the tray off. Not sure... Is this something that would be better sent back or is it doable on this end? I'm not adverse to trying if you can walk me thru it.

    Hope this works....

Sounds like belts are slipping under tray. They can be cleaned or replaced or new ones of course.

The magnet operates correctly, sounds like you have a problem with the drive mech. This is control by a drive motor which is probably belt driven. If the belt slips it has no or not enough power to pull the magnet apart. IF everything is working like Im thinking, then you need to work with the drive area. This may cause you to take tray completely out if you cant see it when the tray opens. The only thing after this is to worry if you will place the tray back in at right point. Because it needs to be timed and if you are not use to doing it can be hard.

If you can see the belt, you will only have to remove the tray to get to the belt, also if you can grease the plastic part of underneath the tray this will alloy the tray to move easier. These are only maintenance technics. It would only help in the future. Can you take a picture of the unit with the trays in the open positions. Thanks

On my Yamaha CDC-625, I can push the open/close button or the playxchange button, but the changer door will not open. It sounds like a motor is trying to open it, but nothing. Pushing the button again...

Hi,

The most common problem is a slipping belt.
You have to open-up the player to check it.
If you're not familiar with it, then please don't.
It's not such a big problem, look for a local repairshop.
