Kitchenaid Superba flat top range

I was wondering if anyone has ran into an error code "F4E1" when plugging in the meat thermometer into the stove. We bought this about 4 years ago and have never used the thermomometer in the past and Murphy's law... the first time I go to use it I get the error code and the stove turns off. Any insight is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

F7EO error code. Kitchenaid superba glasstop slide-in range.

Hi

Error code F7-E0 means that an error with the keypad has occurred. Usually it happens due to loose ribbon cable on the keypad or the electronic control assembly itself going bad. To resolve this issue first, disconnect the power to unit and then gain access to the back of the clock assembly (Electronic Range Control/ERC). Now unplug the touch pad ribbon connector from the ERC, it would be a flat wire approx. 1 1/2" to 2" wide and make sure that the cable is not broken and nothing is shorted on the keypad. After this is done insert the cable back and then plug the unit back to check. If the error is still there then the electronic control board should be replaced. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

I didn't use the stove at all the day before i woke up the next day and the stove has a code on it F4E1 what does this mean and how do i fix it my stove is a kitchenaid superba glass top

Short circuit detected; oven temperature sensor. Check sensor for normal room temperature resistance (1085-1097 ohms at 75 degrees F). Check wires between electronic range control (also called clock or ERC) and sensor.

VOTE FOR ME IF THIS HELPED.

Replace sensor if other components check normal. Replace electronic range control (also called clock or ERC) if fail code reoccurs
