If there are papers stick out of the top in the recieving tray gently wriggle them back and forth until they are free. Then, open up printer and the remove the ink cartidge. The papers lying mostly on the inside need to be pulled from the inside. The papers that have just been picked up and are mostly still lying in the paper feeder can be pulled out from there as well (although you may want to remove all the paper that hasn't been grabbed yet). Just keep wriggling back and forth gently so as not to tear the paper and lose a little scrap inside.
SOURCE: I cannot free the paper
place a piece of card stock in the fed tray. turn on the printer and manually assist the card stock between the rollers. you may need to turn the printer off and on several times before it comes out the exit and moving the jam out.GL
