If you can jump start your Lincoln...the battery must be low...(when running have it tested for free at your local auto parts store...the alternator controls the full charging of your battery when the motor is running...If you can not successfully jump start your Lincoln it points to definitely a defective battery, and the starter could be bad also...if your battery is fully charged, and the starter will not turn the motor over the battery connections or the starter is bad...Not a big swithch out...Hope this helps.
Make sure that the battery is fully charged and hols a good charge on it . This is very important as the fault relates to a poor charge or poor battery charge retaining. If you have confirmed that the battery does have a good charge present , the check the terminals for any crusting/erosion . If so use a good cleaner to wipe off the crusts and polish the terminals.
Now set the battery and try to put the camera to a manual mode- disabling the flash. If the camera works then the flash unit can be short and is draining the battery. If not the camera has some regulator in the circuit it can be short.
The Kidizoom is a camera, not a battery charger. If you wan to use rechargeable batteries, you'll have to charge those batteries in a separate, appropriate charger.
If by "dead" you mean a broken, defective, or past end of life battery, then there is nothing you can do to charge it again. If you simply mean a completely drained battery, put it into an appropriate charger and charge it following the instructions for that charger.
I always use a card reader ( very cheap e-bay) & you can also buy a seperate battery charger ( again very cheap )
remove battery and charge is more practical / smaller and lighter esp on hols
