I have a HE2 plus front loader and alot water is pouring out of the soap dispenser, what do I do to stop this?
We had water pour out of the dispenser of our Kenmore HE2 washer. hot water helped us for one load then i realize that a trapped rag was the problem We were actually able to pull the face cloth out of the intake tube without taking everything apart!
opened the washer door and feel around inside the rubber seals to find where the intake tube connects to the drum (upper-left side). felt a small bit of cloth sticking out of the tube and were able to slowly work it out by pulling back and forth. and pulled it completely out thats all it was try this
Issue, small sock ended up between seal and tub, stopping in front of the hose in front of the soap dispenser. Tools needed, 1/4 inch nutdriver, #20 torx tip and water pump pliers. Remove 3 1/4 in screws from back of top, lift and remove. remove the 2 torx screws, one from top and one from the front in the soap try area. Remove 4 screws screws holding the front frame, pry the entire electronics plastics from the top, one catch on right, one in middle. Remove the last torx from the from of the soap tray, remove the screws to get the metal bracket out of the way. Unclip the 3 hoses and get the soap tray box out of the way. The down hose is where my blockage was, squeeze it at the tub and it will collapse and pull out easy, remove blockage. The hose is not under pressure, just give it a wiggle after putting back in making sure it is round and it will not leak.
And average person with the needed tools should be able to do this.

This was just happening to me.. I took the soap dispenser out and felt down the hole - nothing. I used a screwdriver and felt around the rubber seal inside the door - i tried to take the rubber off but couldn't figure it out. However i caught on something when feeling with the screwdriver. I squeezed my fingers up towards where the soap dispenser is and AHA pulled out a thong!! works great since.
This is usually indicative of soemthing blocking the flow of water out of the soap tray, down the connecting pipe and in to the drum chamber.
The soap tray doesnt have any seals as water should just flow into the tray, wash out the soap / fabric softner, and then flow out the back of the tray and down the connecting pipe. When working correctly, there is no pressure or water back-up to cause the water to reach the front of the soap tray.
Take out the tray - your machine user manual will show you how, and check both the tray itself and the "hole" it slots in to for either a build up of solidified soap powder, or some other foreign object. If still leaking, remove the tray again and try to get your hand (a woman's or teenager's hand being smaller is best) down the large oulet at the back of the "hole" the tray slots in to to feel for a blockage.
Do you have young children ? A washing machine soap tray is a great place to hide things !
Occasionally, if the smaller pipes that deliver hot and cold water to the tray come adrift, this can spray water at the front of the machine. This water then has only one real way out - via the soap tray "hole". Most often this will be the cold water pipe as this has higher water pressure to cope with. The only way to check this is to take the top of the machine off.
If after all of the above it still leaks, you'll either need to dismantle the machine enough to see the back of the soap tray "hole", connecting pipe and drum chamber for a better look for problems, or call an engineer.
Same problem, was just calling around service men, reached my hand into the tube, was a "plastic board game token", blocking most of the water going into the machine... just saved a buncha money!
Thank thank thank YOU!!!!

Thanks to all for these postings -- saved us a service call!!!!
I had the exact same issue, found one of my daughters thungs stuck in a whole just inside the upper left side of the rubber gaset. I need a pair of needle nose plyers and a flash light to pull it out.
