Fuji Finepics E550: Menu buttons sometimes do not work.

Have had this camera several years with NO problems. It is used a lot for shooting ebay product photos. Lately, the menu/function buttons on the back which allow me to go into macro mode, erase frames, change white balance, etc., do not always work. Sometimes, if I just keep trying (power off-on, change batteries, etc.) I can finally get them to function. I really like this camera and am not ready to call it DOA.

Any assistance would be appreciated!

Could be the ribbon for the keypad has come loose from it's socket if it is affected randomly. Or it could be dirt or moisture on the keypad membrane affecting it. Only way to be sure is to open it up and have a look

My fujifilm fine pix av 190 camera does not shoot when pressing shoot button....i have to press hard to shoot...

That camera could have two things causing it, 1 the soft press is the auto focus. Most cameras have a half press or soft press to turn on the auto focus and the hard press or press to take the picture. That could just be the camera. Some cameras that can be turned off in the menu. If that is not the case and it does not auto focus when you press it, then it is the button. We used to see that a lot with cameras. The button gives sometimes.

My fuji E550 lets me view pictures but WIL NOT LET ME TAKE THEM! help would be very very appreciated

This is most likely an issue with the camera's image sensor. Your camera will need to be repaired by an authorized Fujifilm service center. Contact Fuji though as sometimes they have service advisories for issues such as this.

S7000 finepix switches itself off when external power is plugged in

I am using Fuji Finepics 7000 for the last 4 years & took approx. 35,000 photos in Australia. Try not to plug in external power when camera is using internal batteries. Switch it off, plug in the external power cable & then switch it on. BYE [email protected]

Depressing my shutter button on my Fuji FinePix E550 causes it to turn off. When I turn it back on there is a no image message. Is it cheaper to buy a new camera than to have it fixed? Thanks for help

You just need new batteries. That's what the E550 does when the batteries get too low. Please get the latest rechargables. Many of the ordinary AA batteries won't last 50 pictures. Fuji also is rather poor telling you how to charge the rechargables. When the screen goes blue when you take a picture, you must use the camera's de=charging system before recharging--otherwise the rechargables will not take a full charge--that's what's likely happened to you!

E550 camera installation CD only has driver updates

You really don't need the Fuji download program to download everything from your camera. Any number of programs in Windows XP or Vista or from other cameras should work as well as Finepix. I have an E550 and usually download with Windows Photo Gallery--the compatible programs pop us as soon as you connect your camera with a cable, or put the xD memory chip into the computer chip reader. Still, if you want the original, you can download it all at http://www.fujifilm.com/products/digital/download/index.html
and choose the right one for your OS. I'm sure Fuji will have a download of the instruction manual, as well.

Good luck.

Fuji Finepix E550 no manual focus

It works fine for me. Reember it works ONLY in P mode. The problem is due to the Fuji E550 does not provide focus indicator, you have to judge the image to see when the object is in right focus.

Overexposure and vertical lines

My E550 started producing over exposed frames (everythings white except maybe across top) with lines. This just happens outside. On inside the pictures are great.

Charged and ready to shoot

Why do you say they've expired? Rechargeables last for 1000 cycles, which should give most people several years use. If they're corroded, go to Radio Shack or Best Buy for replacements. Be sure to charge AT LEAST 14 hours to get the most out of the batteries.
