We bought sidekick 3 from ebay it was shipped from china but sim card wont work screen just says waiting for activation

To be able to send pictures and what not with the sidekick 3 you need to have the sidekick data plan. That is part of the error message you are getting when first turning it on.Without it, all you can do is text and phone

Menu on it's own doesn't work - it will take you to the "emergency call" screen. You need to press "menu" + "L" to bypass the activation screen.

You can bypass the activation screen by pressing "Menu" (the key with the 3 horizontal lines) and "L" - but you will need to do this every time you turn it on.

The only permanent way of getting rid of that screen is to actually activate it - and this needs a T-Mobile SIM with the sidekick service provisioned on it, and will have the effect of locking your device ID to the account of the person who's SIM you used, which might cause problems if you ever want to use the phone on T-Mobile later.

I will give it to you for free. Push Menu + L to bypass the waiting for activation screen. You will need to do this every time you restart the phone.

i have to put a code so i can activate the sim card..but i dont now who to pu it and what code i have to put so help me ..or send me a code

I had the same problem when I bought my unlocked Sidekick.  Hold down the Menu and "L" buttons for about 5 seconds until the "waiting for activation" message goes away.

FLIP THE PHONE OPEN AND PRESS AND HOLD THE MENU KEY WHILE PRESSING L ON YOUR KEYPAD THIS SHOULD BY PASS THAT SCREEN...ENJOY

my service provider said that is because it is waiting to be linked to the internet... in order to use it as a phone until then.... press and hold down L and the menu button for three seconds...and it will unlock the phone aspect but you still have to wait the time period for internet use...

To speed up activation, hit menu + L at the same time.
