When i goto scan on my hp psc 2355v all-in-one it says i need to install the hp software. I have a hp computer and when i bought the printer i just connected it and everything worked fine. Is there a way i can delete the printer then try to plug and play again to get my scanner working?

I have the same problem with the HP PSC 2355 All in one printer. It's hooked up to my Dell with Vista Operating System. The printer works, but when I try to scan the printer says that I need to install hp software. I have the same problem with the HP PSC 2355 All in one printer. It's hooked up, I have Windows Vista Operating System. The printer works, but when I try to scan the printer says that I need to install hp software. For Windows XP:
To isolate the issue I suggest you to try scanning from the Windows Image acquisition(WIA) wizard on the computer.
Follow the below steps to Scan using WIA 1.Verify that the all-in-one product power is turned on and the printer cable is properly connected.
2.Click Start then Click All Programs then Click Accessories then Click Scanner and Camera Wizard.
3.Follow the Scanner and Camera Wizard instructions to scan images to the computer.

THIS MIGHT HELP I LOVE OLD SCANNERS AND ALL IN ONE PRINTERS. MOST OF THE TIME YOU HAVE TO GOTO MY COMPUTER AND SCAN IT A DIFFERENT WAY. LET ME KNOW IF I CAN HELP FURTHER.
You have to ways to get the software , either downloading the software for free , and loading it into an usb memory stick, or by purchasing the CD from HP.
