Check your local memory on your mp3 player. That's where the files actually loaded.

Media player wont play files

When you connect the MP3 player to your computer with the supplied USB cable then computer detects the player as an external storage device or a Removable disk, you can then view the folder on your MP3 player. Open the music folder and create a new folder on the player exactly the same way you create a folder on your computer's hard drive. To organise your music, make a folder name with the name of the music album and place the album's MP3 files in this folder, then copy the mp3 files from the computer into this folder.
You will then be able to select the music you want to play by the music album folder. To delete a file from your MP3 player, connect the supplied USB cable to your player and then plug it into the USB port of your computer.
The computer will detect your player then click on this device to view the files, you can then click on the music file to highlight the file and then press the Del key to delete the file off your MP3 player. Check the specification of your MP3 player to determine the type of video file format it uses. Most common video files that MP3 players use are, AVI and WMV, there may be others such as FLV, MOV and DivX. If your player cannot play a video then it is an incompatible video file format, then you need to convert that video file to a format that your MP3 player uses. After video conversion then copy the video files to your MP3 player using the USB cable from your computer. Click on this link for instructions on converting video files for MP3 players :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r5874192-play_videos_mp3_player MP3 players can only play music files in mp3 file format. You can download mp3 music files from the Internet to your computer and then copy them to your MP3 player using the USB cable. For your CD collection, you need to convert your CDs to mp3 music files onto your computer or download them from the Internet and then copy them to your MP3 player after you have connected the USB cable to the MP3 player and the computer.
You can do this using Windows Media player and Rip the CDs - Media Player will create a MP3 music file for each music track. Click on this link for instruction on converting music files to mp3 file format :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r5798418-creating_transferring_mp3_music_files

SwiMP3 (128 MB) MP3 Player: I have the original first version of the Swimp3 pl...

This could actually be an easy fix. If you have any files on the player that are not WMA or MP3 files, or that you've stored your music in folders - either way it could simply stop the drive from playing.

Incompatible Music Files: If you have loaded a music file that is not compatible, it simply won't play. The SwiMP3 player works with mp3 or wma files, but not aac (like from iTunes).

Solution: Remove the incompatible files. Convert your other music files to mp3 or wma, and if you are importing your songs direct from itunes, you'll need to convert them to mp3s first.

Incompatible NON-Music Files: An MP3 player is similar to a Thumb Drive or Flash Drive because it can hold any kind of file that will fit in the drive's capacity. However, if you have loaded an incompatible file - including JPEGs, Cover Art, Word Docs, anything that is not an MP3 or WMA file, the player simply can't translate it into music.

Solution: Remove the incompatible files, leaving only your mp3 or wma files in your root directory.

Folders: The mp3 player is not able to open folders and play music files stored inside, to the Swimp3 player the folder is simply an un-playable file.

Solution: Open the folders, move or copy the music files into the root directory (remember, mp3 or wma - not aac), then delete the folders.

I hope you find this helpful.

Having problem syncrinizing music to mp3 player

if u used window media player its will mess up your mp3 by duplicating songs and not leting u play songs. What i do is connect it to the computer and it should pop up. DONT open window media player. Open the files and add your music by dragging them into your mp3 from another folder. This only works if you have a different folder of music. It should work. If all your music is in Widows media player it wont work. Also try deleting all your music from ur mp3 but copy your musice onto your computer first. Good luck i hope i helped.

Infinite folders and inability to play music

You need to reinstall the firmware, which can be found on Sansa's site. If this is not an option, which it likely is NOT, you need to send the device out via the MFG warranty, or just send it to the MFG. If you look into the files on this device, it has a VERY VERY bad history with performance on this site. I hope this helps! problem solved!

How to upload files from MP3 player to computer

Hi. To upload files from your E260 to your computer, you can do the following: Step 1: Browse the player on your Windows Explorer. Under "Windows Explorer", your player should appear as an icon under "Portable Audio Devices" or as a "Removable Drive" with a corresponding drive letter. This really depends on the mode your player is in -- MTP or MSC mode. Step 2: Set your Windows Explorer to "Show Hidden Files or Folders". The folder containing your music files on the player is a hidden folder, so make sure you go to "Tools" menu on your Explorer window, then select "Folder Options", then select the "View" tab, then enable the "Show Hidden Files and Folders" radio button Step 3: If your player is set to MTP, you would find the sub folder called "PPI NAND". Open this folder and you would see a list of sub-folders, one of which is labeled "Music". Open that and you would see your music files If your player is set to MSC, open the drive letter corresponding to your E260 and you see a list of folders, one of which is labeled "Music". Open that and you would see your music files. Step 4: Select the music files you want and copy them to your local hard drive I hope the info helps.
