I have a wild guess. I have the same tv and channel 72 is the proper channel to watch tv on. I don't know why, but maybe try channel 72 instead of the usual channel 3. Good luck, maybe a quick fix, maybe not!

SOURCE: Toshiba 42WH36P rear projection TV has wavy lines

the problem is going to be a bad NEXT HYPER UNIT module. this is the digital scan card in the tv. try using the componenet inputs and if the tv works ok then you know that the HYPER UNIT is the problem. the reapir process for a "do-it-yourselfer" is too involved and would recommend a serivce center for this repair.

the "scan converter module" is located directly behind the board where your inputs are in the back of the set. That should repair the problem.

Sound, No Picture

The only thing you can do is to unplug the tv for 30 min. Then turn it back on and see if that fixed it. If not call a repair man, you are most likely missing a power supply voltage or deflection voltage.

No Picture - No Sound - Pilot lite OK - hear speakers 'blip' when turned on

Toshiba did have a problem with a protection ic that would fail. It is possible that this is the problem. But some trouble shooting will need to be done buy a repair shop.

40H80 Problem TV will not switch to non antenna inputs

Sounds like you have a bad tuner. It is not uncommon for solder joints to deteriorate over a period of time and loose continuity. If you are handy with a soldering iron, you can try to fix it yourself but I really recommend leaving it to a professional.
