Instead of changing the NAT type, it is effective to forward ports on the router for your PS3. Perform the steps as mentioned in the below link:

http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Netgear/WPN824/PlayStation_Network.htm

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue.

I have a netgear WNDR3300 and my ps3 has a NAT type 3 how do i get it to a type 2?

You have to manually set the NAT type of your PS3 to type 2. I believe you can do that thru the interface. Most routers has NAT 2.

Need nat type 2-PS3 Cable ISP digital phone modem wireless route

you can put your ps3 in a dmz zone. if still does not work its not your router. u can keep your ps3 in dmz and get your router to open ports. u can call your router company. If still does not work its not your router more than likely. It might be your modem. i have at&t and that was my issue. i went to dmz on modem and allowed it to pass through dmz zone and ip addresses to pass through. but make sure on your comp u have spyware or something. Your ps3 can not get virus.

Netgear range max keeps dropping signal

Is it cable or DSL? Cable should be fine but DSL gets slower everytime a second or third connection is added.

Netgear range max cant be found by ps3 please help

1. Please open any web browser like Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator.
2. Connect to the router by typing http://routerlogin.com/basicsetting.htm or http://192.168.1.1 in the address field and click Enter or Return key.
3. A window will prompt for a user name and password. The default username is "admin" and the default password is "password".

Note: If it does not take password as the password, you might have changed it when you have run the NETGEAR Setup CD so please try other passwords. If you cannot remember the password, you need to reset the router and run the Setup CD to reconfigure it.

4. Click the Wireless Settings under Advanced tab.
5. Check the box under Enable Wireless Router Radio and Enable Wireless SSID Broadcast.
6. Click the Wireless Settings under Setup.
7. Change Channel (recommended are 1, 6 and 11).
8. Change the SSID to uniquely identify your network. You might have a similar SSID with your neighbor.

Note: Do not change the SSID if there are already other wireless computers that can connect to the network.

Other factors that you may consider when you are not able to view any available wireless network:

a. Switch for the wireless adapter is turned off
b. Distance between the wireless router and computer
c. Possible wireless interferences

Ps3 nat type 3

In order to achieve NAT 2, you are going to have to set your PS3 to a static IP address and forward ports on your router.

detailed instructions on how to do this and configure your ps3 can be found here:
http://www.pregamelobby.com/forum/sony-reviews-tips/5618-how-get-type-2-open-nat-your-ps3.html

In order to get into your router settings, go to 192.168.0.1 OR www.routerlogin.net (the router sets up its own DNS) and putting in your username and password. If you have not set up a password, the default username and password for this router is "admin"/"password". Follow the instructions in the page I posted once you are logged into the router's webmin.

Hope this helps!
