Question about Kenmore 62622 Microwave Oven

I was taking out the lightbulbs and suddenly it stopped working...no power to the unit and the outlet isn't tripped. The lightbulbs were glued in there so i tried to pull them out with pliers (dumb). Could i have blown a fuse?

I have a Sharp Carousel model R-1874-T. It suddenly stopped working. No lights are on. I checked the outlet and there is power coming there. Is there a way to reset the microwave?

You probably have a blown fuse.

Unplug your microwave and turn it around and remove the screws holding cover on and then remove the cover. Look for where the power cord goes into the back of the unit and follow the black wire from the cord to where it ends. It should stop an either a circuit board or a fuse holder. Make sure that you replace the fuse with the same amperage fuse as what you take out. You will find the amp rating stamped on one of the silver collars on each end of the fuse. Good luck!

New microwave stopped working after 15 seconds

Possibly the fuse / breaker is tripped, usually all outlets in one room share same breaker. Check breakers (or fuses) or try outlet in differnt room. If the outlet has power, (plugin a lamp to check) and the microwave still does not work, take it back to store for replacement or refund.

Their is a chance that the power went out in the house. Also, chances are that it just broke.

I was cooking food for 1 minute and it just shut off after approx. 30 sec. There are no lights or power now. The outlet is fine. The unit is 4 yrs old.

Check your other appliance. You may have tripped a break. If they are all functioning, and you have no dead outlets in your kitchen, then the unit will need to be serviced. Hope it's the breaker.
a 1200w microware will draw 10 amps all by itself. Your outlets are most likely on 15 amp breakers, so it wouldn't take much amp draw from another kitchen appliance to trip the breaker.

Microwave just lost all power in the middle of heating up. no display, no lights, nothing. I have power to the outlet and no breaker tripped

as the unit was running at the time it stopped the fault is simple your microwave has blown its fuse. the question is why? in some cases the fuse simply fails to hold in this case i would replace the fuse and be on my way. or the microwave has suddenly formed a crossed circuit. the fastest and cheapest way to test this is the way most techs do it but its dangerous.!! so you decide weather to do it or have it seen to by a tech. take the back of the unit the master fuse will be at the back just were the power cord runs in replace the white fuse (ceramic) with the same volt and value as the one in it put the back on (for safety) plug it in and try cooking with it if it goes great if not its a big fault and in the bin it goes.

My microwave just quit workin. It has absolutely no power.

Make sure breaker isnt tripped. If breaker isnt tripped just for the sake of knowing plug a fan or something you know that works in the outlet. If it works, you have probably blown fuses in the microwave you'll have to take microwave apart to get to them.

Dead microwave

There are replacable fuses inside. Taking the microwave apart requires removal of a lot of screws and the cover that can be rather bulky. make sure it's unplugged and safe before you begin. you can get replacement fuses at radio shack, ect. be sure to buy the same type and amperage. if the blow a second time there may be other issues.

No power

A microwave should be plugged into an outlet that is on a separate circuit. Make sure you didn't trip a breaker that serves this purpose. If all is well, then take your oven to an authorized servicer in your area. DO NOT attempt to let anyone but an authorized servicer to even touch it. Shock hazard with severe injury could occur.

Changed lightbulb

simply changing the lightbulb should not cause a problem like that. It sounds like you accidently shorted out two terminals during the process, which probably blew out the power board on the unit. I wouldn't trust it any further unless you were to take the entire unit apart and find the "blown up" component and replace the board that it's on. Believe it or not, it's not that hard a job if you're up to it.
