Compaq V6608 no display after powering on. But the machine is working.i brought only a month ago.

I have seen those End -of -cord built in GFI's fail like that , in the past I have just replaced the cord, but one month old is warranty issue

is this a CCFL LDC
if yes the inverter is bad. (a card tiny, and thin)
its old LT.
the books are gone now.
the service book tells you how to replace the CCFL inverter
find a used good one is problematc.
why not buy a newer LT
or just run the external screen and be happy

mine has.:
1: external only
2: internal only
3 both
4: auto. (i think only my newer HP has this)
mine is Fn+f4, but on a relic compaq, gee buy the book,
or google search for it for weeks,

next time post to HP< there is no COMPAQ for years.

Try with a different cable, the pins may be bent. If this isn't working get an additional video card and install it in your CPU.

Call 1-800-4MY-XBOX if you see red rings around the power light.  If you just bought it 7 months ago, it is still under warranty.  Do not use one of the custom shops who say they will fix the red ring errors as this will void your warranty with Microsoft.

Are you plugged into the LINE port?

well..this will require a new motherboard(around 200.00) and two hours of tech time(around 200.00) so compaq was high, but not that high..

hi sucb Clear nvram and replace memory then checked it will work. there is one black button on system board plz locate it and by pressing it put power on after the display comes update the firmware and bios. pls be free for any assist thanks
