They adjust FOCUS and Screen settings---they have nothing to do with convergence---if you have not touched them---do not---they are not real easy to reset correctly.

What is wrong with the set and what is the model number?

let me know and I will try to assist you

Hi! I have a philips rear projection tv but the colour on the tv is not looking right. It has like a green and some times you can see blue and red lines running down. Can someone please tell me what...

if the lines are scrolling up or down the screen slowly then you have a power supply fault, this fault is likely due to a defective filter capacitor and as time goes on it will get worse, have this repaired before it causes damage, if you are thinking of tackling this problem your self read on....

Hello, i will list the criteria required to service TV and projector TV`s first and foremost you require a good understanding of how TV`s work and the ability of reading schematic diagrams, then you require a knowledge of how printed circuit boards are patterned so you can navigate around them to locate possible trouble spots.
then you require
1 multi meter of good quality
1 oscilloscope 20 MHz or better
1 shop service manual pertinent to your type and model of unit you wish to repair
this is a minimum requirement of test equipment you can have

you also kneed a location or locations to obtain the replacement parts you may require to complete the service task.
Now if you have all the above criteria in place then you have some hope to service your unit

Warning rear projection televisions can harbor in excess of 30,000 ,yes that is thousand Volts

There are and never will be user serviceable components inside LOL

Now if you are ready and require further assistance you may contact me and i will step you through the diagnostic procedures Good luck

Akai tv has failed to work

There are many circuit areas inside a TV set that can have burning components. Since you describe a colour change, I would think the fault may be in the video processor, screen biasing, or video drive path.

Colour misalignment and focus

Inside of the tube assembly, there is a cooling liquid. This could be a job to change, and then re-adjust everything. It is also possible that on top of this, there are problems with the convergence and bias control circuits.

Typical repairs can run in the area of about $400 to about $800 depending on the amount of work and type of parts required.

Personaly, I would go out and get a good Plasma or LCD TV at this point!

Philips 50P8341 50 in. Rear Projection Television most of the color is red

Usually if you remove the speaker grill in front there is a convergence panel that can be carefully removed. If you look inside you should see a small rectangular block with six controls. They are labelled focus and screen, and red, blue and green. Adjust only the screen controls very carefully and slowly. I would recommend reducing the red slightly brfore raising the green and then blue until the picture looks acceptable. Be sure to center the on screen controls before starting.
