My s500i wont read the memory card, hoe do i fix

try other memory card on galaxy 2100. If other memory card read by Samsung galaxy then problem with memory card. Also check same memory card on other mobile. If memory card work fine on other mobile then problem with memory card.

Unfortunately Flash drives / Memory cards once corrupted are pretty much useless... But, I would recommend you format the memory card from a Linux based PC, If you are lucky, you may be able to use the card again (Windows is a B****).
Moving forward, keep in mind that the card should not be filled to capacity (Meaning: a few MBs of free space should always be available). So next time when you are taking photographs make sure that you don't exceed 90% capacity of the memory card.

first thing to do is to powercycling the phone (turn off, remove battery, simcard, memory card) leave it like that for 2mins, put everything back in. if the same error occurs, try putting that memory card on another phone, if it works fine there, the phone itself maybe the one having problems. to make sure, try putting another memory card on that phone, if its all ok, they its just having a hard time reading your memory card (clean the gold contacts of the memory card by damp cotton buds, not dripping wet ok?) . if your memory card dont work w other phones, it needs to be replaced. if the phone wont read any other memory cards, bring it out for repair already and keep your memory card until phone is fixed.

You could clean the contacts with cue tip? But it might be condensation on the circuits, which will need service.

format your memory card and boot it

just delete all items from outbox , sent items. switch off, remove the battery, again put the battery n switch on. test wether u r able to send sms now. i hope this helps

Open the card on your PC and copy all your files to a folder on your desktop. Then go to my computer, right click the memory card and format. When a little window appears just click start.

If your files are deleted then paste them from your desktop back onto your card. This should fix the problem.
