This is a disk error issue make sure if on windows you have the drivers for your CD drive(start>right click computer>click device manager) and also try an different make of blank disk.

TDK maxel and sony disks are notoriously bad on burning..

verbatin and imation disks burn without this error, stick to CD-R or CD+R disks the re-writables are notrious for not writing properly

this may solve your problem hope it helps

When I try to burn a cd on itunes I get the 4260 or 4265 error. I tried using another burner program but still wouldn't work

Could be disk error (just make sure if on windows you have the drivers for your CD drive: start>right click computer>click device manager), try a different brand of blank disks.
Use CD-R or CD+R disks, check your CDROM to see which is compatible..

Im trying to burn a cd on itunes but i get error 4260. what can i do to fix it?

you can try to re-install/update to the newest version of ITunes. make sure the settings in BIOS are correct. drivers are up to date. use a different prog to burn to cd. there are alot of free progs that will burn to dvd/cd. like here : http://alternativeto.net/software/?profile=windows

Cd burning

Usually when you get a 4300 error when you are writing to a disk it means one of two things.

1. The communication from the motherboard to the cd-rom is bad. Meaning a bad or loose cable connected to the cd-rom drive.

or

2. You have another cd-rom drive installed or another IDE device installed in your PC and they are both set up on Master or Slave and the operating system is having an issue sending the data to the right device.

If neither of these are YOUR issue, then I would take the CD-ROM drive out and check it on a friends/family member's pc to make sure it's not the drive itself.

I had that error befor I was burning with Memorex's 52x CD-R... when I switched to a Maxell's CD-R, the error was gone! And I left the burn speed at 'maximum'. It did it in about 4minutes. Good luck!
