Our refridgerator is, probably 19 years old. It came with the house we just bought. So, does it have a filter for the water and ice maker? And, if so, where would it be located?

most of the time when you get a filter it has its own housing and they are and in the water line filter, just unscrew the water line and replace, just make sure the arrow is going in the right direction
Your filter is probably clogged ... Your going to need to take the bottom grate off and see what you find ... Dishwashers all run the same so try that's then if it's clear you probably have a clogged drain in your pipes .. But I bet it's just the filter
If your machine is only 2 months old and wasn't used when you bought it call the number on the label that has the model and serial number on it that is located either inside the refridgerator on the upper wall somewhere or somewhere on the frame. Being that whirlpool now owns Maytag, which encompasses Amana, you have a one year manufacturer warranty where parts and labor are both covered free of cost.
i would definately change the filter
they are usually only good for 6 mos
or 400 gals
without knowing if its dripping from the housing
i would start with changing the filter and see if that takes care of it

WOW! I'd say that the filter is definately due for replacement.
The manufacturer recommends the filter be changed every 6-8 months, as with ice and water dispensers in the door, folks tend to use the chilled water and ice more often, hence you get alot of gallons of water thru the fridge each month.
Once you replace the filter, you'll need to flush out the lines, (see the instructions with the new filter) to get rid of any loose carbon in the filter element, but once you done this, you should also notice better water flow and better tasting water and ice cubes too.
I tend to change my ice/water filter on my fridge every year when I change my smoke detector batteries. That way, I don't forget, sort of like my personal "once-a-year" house task list to change batteries, filters, resetting timers, etc., etc.
It's a good idea to change these smaller filters at a minimum of once a year, as they are no longer providing the filtration you want, and can actually be letting some of the contaminents fow out and into your water and cubes.
Please provide brand and model number of refridgerator,... The red indicator probably means you need to change the water filter.. but I am only speculating since I do not know what brand you have..
