Verify your internet modem it connected to the WAN port on your WRT160N, login to the WRT160N and go to the "status" tab and see what your internet status is. You should see a page similar to this:

Verify your router has an Internet IP address. If it does not, then you haven't finished configuring your router. If it does have an IP address, then turn off your firewall and see if you can get connected that way.

Linksys wrt160n will not broadcast the internet wireless or ethernet it will however broadcast a connection to the router not the internet. I have tried to re-set it, power down, nothing works. I have not...

Your Linksys WRT160N is a router that can be accessed via CAT-5 cables and wirelessly. You must configure the router though, for wireless use. If this is not configured or not configured correctly, then you may have problems using it wirelessly. Laptop computers usually use the 802.11g mode, not the 802.11n, at 54MB or with the right NIC in a desktop you can get 108MB. If it was working then quit without your doing anything, you may have to replace the router, but I doubt it.

Wusb54gc connection with wrt160n

If the desktop is a Win XP computer, Uninstall the WUSB54GC, restart the computer and then once it boots up and ready, plug the wusb54gc, once it ask for the drivers insert the cd and let it find the drivers then install it.You will be using the Windows wireless configuration and see if that will work.
