Well, if You have a Windows Computer with Windows Media Player 10....then all You have to do is synchronize it with your Media Player....If you don't have atleast Windows Media Player 10....then jus simply upgrade your Media Player.....If You have an Apple Computer....Wait for the MP3 to pop up on your desktop...and simply drag your files from itunes to your MP3 player file....

I recently got this from another party

You can delete the songs only by using the computer explorer. The cable it uses is a standard "Mini USB", those used in Motorola Phones, some digital cameras, etc.

Deleting songs

The songs can't be deleted from the player, only using the USB connection.

My Rca Lyra Mp3 keeps shutting down by itself and what must i download to make it compadible with windows vista

Try updating the player's firmware, you can download it from the RCA Website (http://support.rcaaudiovideo.com/)
If your computer doesn't recognize the player, you'll have to turn it off and keep "PLAY" pressed for 10 seconds while connecting it to the USB port, then update the firmware.

Downloading

connect it to PC and then open Windows Explorer and search for the drive letter that Windows automatically assigned to be your Lyra player. Click on that and look for any folders. Open the song folder (if exists) and then mouse drag your pc song files into this folder. Disconnect USB cable and your songs should be on the LYRA.

Problem using Scan Disk memory card

I had the same problem, and that is what RCA answer me: "... Due to a unique FAT12/16 cluster size requirement, the supplied format utility that comes with the RD1021/RD1071/RD1075 MUST BE used on all SD/MMC cards before they will work in the RD1021/RD1071/RD1075. Once formatted, these cards will still be FAT compatible and should still work with other devices, i.e. RD1080. The format utility can be found under "Programs", "Lyra Personal Audio Player", "RD1021,RD1071,RD1075", "Format Media" once your software has been correctly installed from the included RCA CD-ROM. ..."
