Have two computers to connect to a printer. One computer uses a serial the other a parallel port. The printer has only one usb port. Is there a dual cable or adapter available to make the transition?

You won't find a cable or adapter that will allow both computers to connect simultaneously to the printer. This is because the printers would interfere with each other's signals. That said, adapters are available, but not cheap. Again, the problem is the language that each type of connector uses is different. On top of that, chances are that the printer software would not allow you to select a serial port output on the printer knowing it does not support serial port interface. Same issue with the parallel port. You apparently are using very old computers if all you have is serial or parallel port outputs. You may be able to get a USB card to install in the computer(s) to provide you with a USB interface. This would be cheaper than attempting to get a pair of adapter cables and more likely to work better as well. Often the adapter cables don't work right and will cause slow printing. Also, you CAN get a switching box that can connect two USB computer ports to a single printer.

My computer that has PSW2.0 crashed. It had Windows XP. I have a new HP computer with Windows 7. What do I have to do to make it work on my new computer?

From Singerco.com FAQs: Q. My computer only has USB ports. Can you recommend a Serial (nine pin) to USB converter cable that will work with the Professional Sew Ware™ 2.00a? A. We have found that the PSW works best on newer computers when the USB serial adapter cable has not only compatible drivers for the Windows operating system but also a FTDI chip. We have found this FTDI chip in the cable which is listed below:
CUSB-232A available from Computerplug.com and Cablesalesusa.com.
Any USB to serial adapter with an FTDI chip will work. These cables will work for Windows XP, VISTA, and 7.

How to get Panasonic KX-P2123 printer to work with USB port

Cables are available from a number of sources which will convert from a USB plug for your computer to a serial or parallel connector for your printer. (I don't remember for sure whether that Panasonic is serial or parallel. I think it's a parallel printer and uses a Centronics connector.) Do a search for "centronics to USB" or "serial to USB" and you will find links to a number of sources.

Pfaff 7570 connection to new XP laptop

In this FAQ list (from PFAFF web) you find 100 times the same question and answer:
H402 My new computer does not have any serial COM ports, so how does it communicate with my Pfaff creative 7570?

You will need to obtain a USB Serial Adapter, which adds a serial port to your computer by plugging it into a USB port. Suitable adapters can be obtained from Belkin [http://www.belkin.com] and Keyspan [http://www.keyspan.com].
The following USB Serial Adapters are known to work with the Pfaff creative 7570:
• Belkin F5U103
• Keyspan USA-19QW
Please note that the Belkin F5U109 is listed as working with the Pfaff creative 2140/2144 (FAQ #H405), but it does not work the Pfaff creative 7570.
