How do I remove a Clarion DRB4275 head unit??

Yes you will need the keys that came with the radio. If you cant find them you will need to go somewhere like radio shack or somewhere else that installs car stereos and have them remove it for you.

On the left side of the face is a button with four arrows on it. The volume is controlled by the arrows that point up and down. The arrow pointing up raises the volume and the arrow pointing down lowers the volume.

After taking off the side panel, remove the front cover. Lay the computer on its side, remove two screws on the top of the metal cage (expansion by) take a long flat head screwdriver and insert it in the cage where the expansion bay is, press down and slide the cage over. Remove power and information cables from the back of the hard drive.

you need to slide two thin keys down each side to release the unit from the cage.

Have you tried 1st to pull the unit out of the wall using the little metal "keys" to release the deck from the mounting cage and than pull the power plug AND the Satillite plug as well and wait for 10 minutes or so and replug it but first hit the reset button and see what happens. I run into this frequently with Clarion's in boats/yacht, not sure why but i guess it could be result of a voltage surge. Now the display is saying that you have a blown speaker or more than likely a wire that is grounded out. I highly doubt the charter client caused the head unit to shut down other than the simple act or ejecting a cd. We quit selling Clarion for that very reason, an abnormal rate of repair occurances. And I would wager you have the hard wired remote controls either on the bridge or in the rear at the swim platform or both locations. These too could be the problem. I can't tell you how many hours i have spent running down a shorted speaker wire. Because if one is shorted in the "slightest" you get the message "amp guard". If push comes to shove Captain i recommend a small amplifier and use only the pre-outs (rca cables) instead of speaker wire. If it is an aftermarket head unit, it is removed by inserting two thin but sturdy metal strips into both sides between the head unit and the metal mounting cage, so as to disengage the locking clips and allow the unit to be slid out of the mounting cage.

Note: Most times people store the two removal keys (flat metal L shaped devices) that came with the new head unit, in the glove box. If your replacing your old unit with a new one, it will come with a pair of removal keys.

The cage is removed by bending up and out, a series of mounting tines that secure it to the dash panel.(be careful the edges are sharp) There may be a securing strap bolted to the backside of the cage that would also need to be removed.

merce ..measure your din size of radio..width and height..also take notice of the locking mechanism on your radio..draw a quick sketch of it so you can take to a car audio place .they should be able to tell what one fits,
