Tip & How-To about Nokia e65 Cellular Phone

Nokia E65 and Kenwood KDC BT100 bluetooth handsfree unit

Hello,

you cannot use the Nokia E65 with KDC BT100 bluetooth handsfree unit (an external unit to add bluetooth capabilities to your compatible Kenwood car stereo) unless you are running a firmware release >2.x

You can read your Nokia phone's firmware release by typing: *#0000#

With any firmware older than 2.x, the phone will find the BT100 and even pair with it, but the phone will not show up on BT100's phone list.

In some cases, Nokia E65 can also *crash* the BT100 unit. If this happens, the BT100 will disappear from your car stereo's menu. The only way to bring it back to live is to unplug the power of your car stereo. A simple off/on cycle will not be enough.

How can I configure my KCA-BT100 in order to make use of the bluetooth feature of my LG Sine U970 mobile phone?

Unfortunately, you must have a compatible phone. The LG Shine U970 is not on the list. Bluetooth is not as standard as we would all like. See the outdated compatiblity list at http://www.kenwood.com/bt/bt100/

Bluetooth connection not working Kenwood KCA BT100 with KDC W7537U and a Nokia N95

Well... I'm sure mine worked ONCE! I have the BT100 and KDC-W7534U. It worked fine with my Nokia N80 but with my Nokia N95 It connects fine but i cant hear or be heard when the call is answered.Interestingly I cannot use the headunit to dial a number anymore. If i was to be on a call BEFORE connecting the headunit then it works. But once the call ends and i select an input source - the phone has the same symtoms as above again. I have checked all the profile settings and set the enhancment to be active on the active profile. I thought Bluetooth was a standard and it was just meant to work if it was bluetooth compliant! ...Grrrrrr!
