WorkCentre M20i will not power on

I simply powered it down one weekend by the switch on the side, and on Monday, it seemed to be dead - wouldn't power back on. Tried different outlets and power cords. I can't find documentation on fuses or breakers.

Most likely on this machine the Low voltage power supply is out.
Before ordering parts, check the back of the power supply to make sure the connectors, 110 volt on the back of the plug have not slipped off. Sometimes they are not slipped on the connector very good and come off. Also, make sure the switch is good, sometimes these switches are just mechanically bad inside.
Disconnect the power and disconnect the main motor plugs, power back on the machine and see if the machine at least comes on, even with an error messege on the console. Sometimes a bad main motor will cause the main board to drain power.

Also, make sure before ordering this power supply, the correct part is ordered for this model machine.
Let us know what you find, just becareful with the power plug in the machine when working in the electrical circuits. Unplug the copier when needed.

Couple of things.
First try unplugging it for 30 minutes. Not just unplug and replug. Leave it unplugged for a full half hour.
If it doesnt power up, you need to replace the low voltage power supply.
Let me know.

Scanner locked, cannot copy

On this model, if you look where the copy paper comes out, just look underneath the scanner. There is a green slide switch with a icon of a pad lock closed and one open. Turn off the power first, then reach under and slide the switch to the unlock side.
Turn on the power and the machine should work.
Good luck.

Workcentre M20i Scanner Locked, I tried flipping the switch still doesn't work.

I am not sure which switch you are talking about.
The machine has a power switch, and a scanner lock switch.
The scanner lock switch is located in the area where you take the copies out of the exit area, it is just above the knuckles of your hand. If you lean over look under the bottom of that scanner, there is a green sliding selector switch with a picture of a pad lock. Power off the machine, then move it to the unlock side. Then turn on the machine, see how it works ok.
Good luck.

Changing print properties shuts down all open programs instantly!

I would first of all Go to the Xerox.com site and go to Drivers and downloads for the M20i and install the newest firmware. I believe the current version is 3.4.
I believe your problem would be resolved in loading the newest machine firmware.

Xerox workcentre m 20i does not power up

First of all try unplugging it for a half an hour. Not just turning it off but remove the power cord. Very often there is a capacitor in that power supply filter you have to let discharge totally. The only way that will discharge is to remove all power for a half an hour.
A dead machine otherwise , would he a bad power supply. It is located under the cover where the copies come out. There is also a couple of fuses on that power supply. To access it, go to the left side of the machine, the side where the on off switch is and remove the 2 silver Philips screws on that side. There is also a tab on that cover, so don't be afraid to pull it pretty hard to remove, It will Pop, but not break. There are 3 screws in the metal cover over the power supply to remove the cover, check the fuses, if they are good the power supply is bad. Google a business called The Parts Drop, call Britt and he will have that part. There is a really good chance that unplugging it for the half an hour will work. I have taken tons of calls and canceled calls where that is all you have to do. Let me know please.
The main board is highly unlikely to cause a dead machine, very unlikely. Actually it can happen, but I have never seen a main board cause a machine to be dead.

M20i Power

The power supply will need to be replaced. Look up on Google a business called The Parts Drop.
Call and talk to Britt. He will have the part and at the best price.
Not hard to replace, you go to the left side of the machine, where the on off switch it and remove the cover that catches the paper. 2 Screws. Then remove 3 screws that hold on the metal cover, disconnect the connectors from the power supply, then slide the entire metal bracket out, unscrew the old power supply, install the new one, and do everything in reverse to reinstall it.
You may have to swap the on off switch from the old to the new.
Oh yes. please unplug it from the wall when replacing.

Xerox workcentre m20i power off

First off try unplugging it and leaving it unpluged for 30 minutes. Not just turned off, but unplugged, then plug it back in and see if it works. There are filter capicitors in the low voltage power supply that sometimes have to sit with power removed for 30 minutes before they discharge and allow the power supply to turn on.
Sounds weird but I have seen it fix a dead machine probably 50 times or more. If that doesn't restart then you will have to replace the power supply. If that is the case let me know and I can tell you where to get it from and ho\w to replace it.
Try leaving it unpluged for 30 minutes. not less than 30 minutes.
