I am experiencing the same problem. When I'm away, the keyboard stops responding and when I'm back I have to remove it from the device manager and re-install it for it to work again. Restarting the machine, or going into sleep mode and back also seems to temporarily solve the problem. When the keyboard is hung, the numlock, capslock and scroll lock lights are shut, but when I press any of them, they blink for a moment and then go off again. Since the keyboard works perfectly on my other PC, I reckon it has something to do with the Vista keyboard drivers. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that the keyboard is also a 2-port USB hub.

Got more or less a similar problem, keyboard disconnects after some hours and the USB connection has to be re-connected manually. Could be some kind of energy saving side effect but system is set NOT to save any energy.

You need to install/check the USB Keyboard driver that came with the Keyboard.
The driver will need to be the correct version for your Operating System / Windows version.
If all the above is done and it still does not work, try a different USB port: your PC/Laptop may not be able to provide enough current to drive this particular keyboard.
Hope it helps. Let me know how you go.
Might be a defective keyboard. Check and make sure its compatible for windows vista but all keyboards should work with any system.. As well maybe the port on the computer is bad..
