1. Disconnect the negative battery cable
2. V-8 or V-6 are both located on the passenger side, remove two or three bolts holding the starter on the transmission
3. Drop the starter through the opening between the firewall and the exhaust
4. Unbolt the battery cable from the starter, and disconnect any other wires.
It sounds like a engine ignition misfire to me, have the plugs and plug wires been replaced? If not replace them taking care to route the plug wires exactly as the factory did, replace any broken loom holders for the plug wires, this is very important.
most of the heater resistors are located under the passanger side under the dash beside the blower motor, but if you are looking for the relay i am pretty sure that it is located under the hood in the power distribution box
is your 96 a 4,6 and the 95 is a 5,0 for starters the computer programming is completely different if all connectors are connected make sure the pcm is compatable for the engine swap!!!!
