I have a hp pavillion a462x with a hp vs19e flat panel monitor. The monitor went black, totally dead. I connected it to another computer and it worked fine. The problem seems to be in the computer. Does the computer need to be replaced?

That could be the video chip if have on board video. I don't know if you have an AGP or PCI slot to add a new video card. The Agp is brown color and always is just one. The PCI are white, and you can have 2, 3 or 4. You can buy some cheap video cards on ebay.

HP vs19e Flat Panel Monitor. model HSTND-2LO7, product# EN632AA made March 2006. I have no power indication. Checked internal power supply connections and PC mounted fuses. Tested operation with another...

If it's under warranty, then take it back for repair or replacement. If it's not under warranty then plan to buy a new one. Unfortunately, in the modern world, faulty electronics without a warranty on them are becoming increasingly known as "throw away items". This has started to happen with monitors. They call them throw away items because it typically costs just as much or more to have it repaired as it does to replace it with a new one. There are several things that could cause the monitor to go black: Bad inverter, Bad back-lights, Bad throwback (transformer), Bad LCD, & etc. Look for any burned resistors or popped capacitors on the circuit boards also. I've had a few monitors where all I had to do was replace the faulty resistor or capacitor and it worked fine.

Desktop monitor went black & and wil not power up

Try the fuse on the monitor power cord, and if this does not cure, you will have to get another monitor....pretty good prices on ebay!

I want to replace the power switch board on my hp vs19e monitor.

About your only hope for getting a replacement switch is to buy a "Parts Only" monitor off of EBay and carefully remove the switch. This one is tricky it's attached to the front bezel as you've likely found out. When you disassemble the monitor, lay it face down and remove the bac plastic then remove the 4 screws holding the button board on then take the rest apart. That's the safest way.

Samsung SyncMaster 191T

You have either a bad inverter board or burned out backlight fluorescent bulb. Very common on this monitor.
