The machine in question is 2/1/2 years old. We have re balance it many times. It has started to 'walk' across the floor in spin cycle. Is there a way to permanently stop this from happening?
This machine uses an auto-adjust for the back portion and they tend to get stuck. Since it sits on a common chassis, insert two standard legs in the back. There are threaded holes that the legs go in. Rebalance the machine. Your problem should stop.
My legacy did the same thing, My floor joists under the machine are 2x12s 16 inch on center, Sounds like a common excuse given to a poor machine design.
In the old days you could the Maytag brand to the Bank, good QA/QC, durable etc today however it seems that you can only take MAYTAG brands to the Dump( or recycling center). I am still trying to decide today if I want to repair this aggrevation or buy something else.
I hope Maytag does not infect the WHIRPOOL brands!
I would not take a free Maytag appliance today if offered!

We bought our Maytag legacy series machine in 2005. The machine vibrates and walks so violently that it has taken the plaster off the walls and knocked items off the wall in the room w/adjouring wall. I had Maytag out several times they said it was because I had a sub floor and it needed to be reinforced. I bought an extension to my warranty contract because I had this ongoing problem. But when I kept calling them on it, they said that they would start charging me for the service call because it was on the same problem and they felt it was the floors fault. Well, we opened the floor up, reinforced it with 2X4 cross bracing, put new plywood flooring in, then put cement backerboard on top of that, then tile flooring. It stills vibrates and walks all over my new floor. I feel, and I told Maytag that when we first could not solve the problem, that it is the fault of their machine. Sooo I guess we will just keep using it until it shakes itself to death, which hopefully will be very soon. Then we will buy another - NOT a Maytag!!!

I have tried to balance the machine several times but it stills walks across the room, and today it starting to leak from the bottom. It's only happen once, but I don't dare to use it. I can't get the front panel off to see where the leak is coming from. All hoses and drain line are not wet. What to do I do?
