Lighting struck the apartment about a week ago, tv was plugged in when lighting struck apartment. Tv does not turn on anymore.

Total right off unfortunately. 125,000 volts is very damaging to all the components. Claim on house insurance, some cover it.

Sounds like a mainboard/Digital board. Might be the panel too. Vizio makes substandard TVs and they tend to fail very easily. As much as I like to see devices repaired, this one may not be worth your hassle. Power problems caused by lightening can be the most damaging. You may even need both power and digital boards to repair it. I would buy boards from someone who will take them back in case the panel failed too.

Make sure the cord is pushed in all the way on the back of the tv. If it is then check for fuses on the power supply board inside the tv

first to check Y board if that's ok then screen needs to b changs .

Ensure the power outlet has power. Try TV on a different power outlet. Switch off TV manually, switch off power, remove plug and retry after 48 hours. If problem persists, please refer it to a qualified service technician.

This problems it not a fuse problems or u would have no power to the tv at all.If ur tv it is on plug into a power surger protector.Tries the tv unplug,replug it back about an hour later for the tv to do a resetting itself back to the factory setting.50/50 this tv will power up and work again.If the tv still have same problems,than the tv main tv Tuner signal board it is shorted and the causes and the problems.The tv main tv Tuner signal board it is the board that where the tv incomming broadcasting signal wire plug into it.You can do and have some basic mechanicals skills like take things aparts and putting it back togther wright?Yes,tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a refurbish tv main tv Tuner signal board for the replacement.

U check the power source?Take the tv aparts,check or replaced the power fuse,might get lucky.Not,than sorry,this tv can't be repair,without replacing electronic's componnents parts.Hire the same shop to do the repair.Ur tv power ICS inverter are dead.

unplug it for 5 or 10 minutes then plug it back in turn it back on run it thru the setup program

your tv may have ben magnetized by the lightning strike.
tv's have an automatic degaussing circuit that demagnetizes
the pix tube when the set is turned on. this degaussing circuit
may not be working or magnetism may have been too strong for
the internal degaussing to correct.
contact local tv repair shop in your area see if they can manually
degauss your set , it should be a min. service charge around $25.

If it was struck by lightning, the surge would completely fry the insides of your TV. Your TV probably won't work anymore and you may have to consider replacing it. Some TVs have accident warranties so something like this could be protected, but if not, you will have to purchase a new one.
