My amp is a memphis 1000 watt monoblock pr1. Here for the past couple weeks it has been acting up. If i am just sitting there listening to the system the amp wont do nothing but when i go down the road the amp will start sending a popping sound through the sub then eventually it will go into overload protection. If it dont go into overload it will have power coming in but no power going out for sound. So then i will tap the outside of the amp and it will send a popping sound through the subs and usually start working for a little bit. I did go and check my ground wire and my battery wire and they are good. Any idea what might be wrong?

What would the best way hooking up a 15" memphis dual voice coil sub ran with a 1000 watt memphis d amplifier??

If the amp is a 2 channel I would hook up each voice coil to a different channel. Also, make sure you hook your amp up as close to the sub as possible. With a sub that size you need to eliminate any delay in signal transfer because the sub is so larg.

What size amp do i need to run 4 1000 watt pyle 10's bridged

well first of all you cant bridge subs... you can bridge an amp... and for 2 they are probablly not 1000 watts, make sure you understand RMS and what the sub can ACTUALLY HANDLE properly... i would get a 1000 to 1500 watt RMS that is RMS RMS RMS RMS amp not one that says 2000 watts MAX POWER cuz thats cheap ****... get a kicker JL hifonic alpine or something in that category that actually tells you the TRUE power output of the amp... then run those 4 subs in a parallel circuit so its like really only having 2 subs. make sure then these subs do not run less then 2 ohms at the terminals while in a parallel, then bridge these subs acting as 2 subs not 4 to your TRUE 1000 watt amp and you should have a good powerful system

Radioshack 250 watt pa amp stopped making sound

for the past month i have been shopping for the perfect home theater system and have narrowed it down to a bose system,a sony system and a paramax p510...i have listened to all 3 systems and have found the paramax to be the better system not a cheaper system but seem more bang for my buck at 3200$,a very powerful tube amp and downfiring sub maxes out at 2000 watts...

550x2 subs....SPL z2x-820 Amp

Hello,

The 230 watt amp is a little small for your subs. They'll work, but if you are looking for max SPL, you won't get it. To push those Audiobahn's to their potential pavement shaking max, I would recommend an amp in the range of 500-600 rms (2-channel bridged) or 1000 watts rms monoblock.

Hope this helps.

I need to know what kind of fuse my amp takes...

IT MAY MEAN THAT IT TAKES (2) 25 AMP FUSES
IF YOU HAVE THEM OUT SEE IF IT SAYS WHAT THEY ARE OR OPEN IT UP IT MAY SAY IT ON THE BOARD OR THE FUSE HOLDER OR LOOK @ THE SPECS ON THE AMP SEE WHAT THE TOTAL CURRENT IS YOU CAN ALWAYS START WITH A SMALLER AMPAGE LIKE 10 -20 AMP FUSE ALWAYS GO SMALLER

Bridging to 12 inch kicker competition subs to my 1000 watt alpine 4 channel amp

I'm a bit confused. For Alpine amps, the "M" prefix is for monoblock (aka single channel) amps and the "F" prefix is for multichannel amps. The only M550 I find is an MRD-M550, which is a monoblock, not a 4 channel like you say.
Unfortunately, I can't give you accurate help until we know weather it's truly 1 channel or 4 channel. Then I'll be glad to help!
